palecriminal -> Electric Nipple Clamps (2/17/2014 12:39:05 PM)

Anyone (preferably female since a female is whom I'd be using these on) have experience with electric nipple clamps and can explain what the sensation is like and, more importantly, how *safe* these things are? Also if there any recommendations for a specific product you have tried with good results then that would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Are they mono or bi polar clamps? I wouldn't use monopole clamps. The sensation when turned up to the painful level is a bit like a tattoo needle

There are two schools of thoughts about electro above the waist.

No.

PROBABLY OK if current doesn't cross the heart.

You can use a box with isolated channels and put a pad on each side of the nipple, completing the circuit for that channel. Ditto the other side.

How it feels depends on frequency, pulse width, and size of electrodes used. Let HER twiddle the dials until she finds what she likes, and experiment with 2" pads since they are large enough not to bite. Never use pads less than 1/2 inch in diameter.

Though I love electro, I personally never use it above the waist on myself or others.

I too would love nothing more than to electrify my nipples into next week. But I personally don't do electric that crosses the heart.

Although I do put my tens unit on my upper back, thats strictly therapy and not sexual.
Def follow MDA's link above. SmartStim is great. :)

Here is an example of one. I thought that the electricity went in and out the same nipple, but looks like it crosses from one to the other. Yeah I'm not too comfortable with that. On the other hand, for a device that is marketed explicitly for use on nipples, if it were sending people to the hospital then one would think there would be lawsuits and prosecutions, wouldn't last on the market long.

Do YOU want to find out if your partner will be the exception here?

medical personnel use surface effect all the time they do not cross the heart or come close to the frequency of the heart. there are many different sites for info on this from the manufacturers themselves and long time users as well

Nipple to nipple is not 'cross chest', it's 'co-plain' and 'allowed'. Cross chest (Front center to back center or side to side centered) is a frequent caution with TENS range play and EMS (Electrical muscle stim) stuff, however there are ZERO reports to OSHA, FDA (which regulates medical equipment) or other Federal consumer/safety agencies tracking deaths and technology mediated hospital admittances.
If you Want cautions, Wikipedia>TENS has the longest list I've ever seen, and a not very convincing reference for them. The people who make TENS and their so far tolerant legal advisers Don't mention most. It leaves out placing TENS patches over the carotid arteries, a not rare caution, as spasms of the muscular sheath of these neck arteries are thought by medical professionals to possibly cause loss of consciousness by interfering with blood supply to the brain.
TENS get used therapeutically above the waist in MOST instances, literally millions of people and times EVERY DAY. Incredibly more often than for sex play. Strange how such a dangerous practice has zero body count?
Use with the presence of chest penetrating wiring is contraindicated. Pacemakers and such. MDs who work with hearts report close to 100ma To The Heart will start to affect heart rhythms. This requires a wire directly to the control nerve center (Which a pace maker HAS) or seriously stronger current cross chest. The chest wall and exterior skin and muscle are the preferred path by electricity across the thorax. In absence of ionizing current that burns a 'wire' to pass through (Lightning or electrical distribution wiring amperage) it takes multiple paths, each weaker than the exterior wiring sees. Why people almost always survive 110v hand to hand 'accident's? House mains will provide up to the breaker amperage, which is usually 15 to 30A. 220v is more lethal at the same amps, Don't mess with European wiring if you aren't a professional?
My friend who is a semi-retired MD from a successful practice in NYC was prompted to inquire on TENS among his colleagues. One extremely well-known heart surgeon simply gave a blank stare when asked about TENS involved heart incidents. He's never heard of one either. JUST internet forums know about this?
TENS machines usually top out between 70 and 100ma. (.1Amp) If you don't know what an Amp is or what it means, your are trusting whatever 'expert' you ask? Electro stim equipment sold for sex play is usually less powerful but may use different profiles of frequency/voltage/amps than familiar TENS units. Stuff that doesn't have a UL rating and full disclosure of power and pulse profile might be avoided by the cautious?

Nipple to nipple feels slightly different from across a single nipple. Plain TENS patches are quite boring. Point contact electrodes are far more attention getting? Area of contact matters. Home-builts are used here, wood safety pins with push pins in each jaw sticking out enough to feel but not penetrate skin, electrode wires attached to each push pin metal. With a 2 channel TENS, they can be wired to cross from nipple to nipple (One polarity will feel more intense than the other, + vs -) or across a single nipple for each channel. Which is interesting if each channel is slowly matched to the other in a 'race' to full intensity in the smallest steps possible. Most find full setting too strong initially. Ramped up slowly, full power is easily tolerated, even boring after enough accommodation.
Pulse frequency is a major variable. Single pulses at high power satisfy those on either side of sadism. 300f/sec feels like a vibrator. 8-12f/sec has been popular for sexual stimulation of nipples here.
