Chrome Avast Internet problem (Full Version)

I have Windows XP. For a browser I use Chrome. I have Avast free antivirus.

I just now did an update to a new Avast version. I can still use Chrome in the Administrator account, but when I try to use it in my user account it cannot access any Internet pages (collarchat, news, etc.)

How do I solve this problem?

I could use another browser, of course.
Or I could go back to an earlier Windows XP datapoint and forget about the Avast update.

It sounds like your Avast is seeing chrome as a potential risk (because it access the net and can alter programs). You probably just need to go into the Avast settings and trust chrome.

Well, I put chrome in the excluded urls and that appears to have worked. Thank you.

Too easy. Glad that is all it was. It definitely sounded it. Usually if something is corrupt it will not work either way (admin and user) and since admin it was working fine, that meant the admin rights were overriding any rules or non-rules (not to be confuzzled with You of course).[8D]

I am getting sick of Avast.

I did an update today of Adfender and Java and now the issues are the same. I cannot get access to lots of Internetsites using Chrome in User account. Even when I tell Avast that some of these sites ought to be excluded I cannot get access.

I have tried a system reset, but the system refuses to reset to an earlier reset point.

In Firefox it functions, I think.

Admin has no problems in Chrome.

How do I get Avast to grant my user account the same Internet access that it gives my Admin account?

I uninstalled Avast and installed Avira instead. All appears to be good.

Well ... I still cannot access the collarme side. [:(]
