jlf1961 -> Stan Lee is behind the times... (2/19/2014 5:24:53 PM)

I have to admit to being a fan of Stan Lee and the Marvel Universe, however, I have, after looking over the current Marvel publication list have realized he needs to develop a few new superheros.

1) A Dominatrix superhero or supervillian: I figure he could interview ladypact and Lucy for inspiration.

2) A wise Dom superhero: heretic strikes me as the appropriate model.

3) A Sadist, and their are a few here that would be perfect.

Thoughts, opinions?

Sadists in mainstream media are always the supervillains, not the superheroes.

I actually have been trying to find this one in particular. I cannot believe a fellow comic enthusiast here on the forums! Now I feel like less of a nerd ;)

Oddly enough, I'd actually enjoy meeting Stan Lee. He came up with so many characters over the years. I bet he'd be very interesting guy to have a conversation with.

If you go on the spiderman ride at universal studios, Stan Lee is "driving" the first Mack truck in it, and appears later as well. He's in every movie about his characters in a cameo. Stan Lee is cheesy, but really fun.

I had a chance to meet the man in November but the weather was bad so I stayed with Lizard and watched Doctor Who...

David Tennant, Matt Smith and John Hurt won out.

You want to get yourself some Fetishman.

I read the first three issues of that one, and it was pretty dreadful, sadly. Really not worth tracking down, imo.

As for other Toppish superheroes, villains, a few spring to mind. There's the lady who's mentioned (but only seen in a dream sequence) in Watchmen, and Emma Frost in X Men, who used to play the Dominatrix a lot when she was still being written as a villain. Catwoman uses a whip and wears a lot of tight leather, and Wonder Woman's bondage tendencies are deliberate as she was designed by a psychologist (William Moulton?) who was heavily into femdom - to the extent of publishing about the innate superiority of matriachal societies.

My personal favourite is Oubliette Midas (aka The Exterminatrix), who was one of the main characters in Grant Morrison's excellent, but now largely ignored, Marvel Boy miniseries from around the turn of the millennium. Great character, and she definitely looked the part:
