ORIGINAL: needlesandpins Jeff, I envy your land. where I live I stand no chance of getting any unless I win the lottery, or some Millionaire takes pity on me :-( needles Depends on what you want the land for. I bought it because of an old cold war Air Force installation on the property. Geographically, it is the northern edge of the hill country, so with the exception of about 40 acres, it is impossible to cultivate. It is mostly scrub brush, canyons and dry creek beds. There are a couple of rarities on the property, a couple of springs and there are a few wells. I have used the wells to supply water to a couple of ponds for wildlife and water tanks for the few cattle I have on the property. There are a few post and live oaks, mesquite and western ceder trees on the property but most of it is, as I said scrub brush. Great for deer, antelope and wild hogs. I like it because it is in a remote section of the county, one road in, so in worst case, it is a good place to bug out to.
