They weren't all workshops, but most munches (certainly all I have been to) the men outnumber the women, fetish events even more so, at workshops you actually get the highest number of women.

I'm so puzzled about your experience, I have slowed down going to munches and all that, I think the last year maybe 3 or 4, I guess LP is the most active around here, maybe she can shed some light on it, because unless you are really living in an area that hardly has any guys, it seems to be so different from everything I ever experienced.

These days, I'm actually not. I haven't been to anything since the community dungeon in December. Since then, there have been some things that are privately held, rather than under the community name, but due to the events allowing some who have outed others in the kink community to attend, I really don't want anything to do with that. There was also one person from the community who started up a fat thread (which has since been pulled) and I was ashamed to say I actually knew the man.

When I was attending, the Fairbanks area is actually rather small. As for single men, I've got one of the few, and there were some folks who really weren't happy about that. Being a skilled top is always an advantage, no matter how the numbers roll.

I've been everything from the only Dominant (not switch) woman in the room and I've been one of many. Some of it does come down to where a person lives because having moved several times during My kink life, if anything, I'd really just say that it depends on where you are. You can't even pin it on a certain state because two munch groups who are more or less neighbors can have completely different demographics.

Always far more men women.

This is exactly why my Master and i have not ventured into the local scene. If someone were to grab me by my arm like that, W/we all would have been thrown out and asked to never return. The fact is, if some random "Dom" were to come up to me and speak to me in a fashion in which was unacceptable "vile language," He would not be able to hold his tongue. Honestly, i am OK with it as well; my Master never refers to me in vile terms and i do not like it when people do.

There was certainly never a shortage of sub men...

At one event a guy (the uber Dom) came up to H and asked me if I'm his property, H almost died laughing and said "I really wouldn't put it like that" and the guy misunderstood and tried to grab me and drag me to a cross, with really vile language, I removed his hand from my arm and might have accidentally twisted his thumb backwards (I was not "overly pleased"), a DM grabbed him and gave him a run down on protocol and what is OK and what not, it was hilarious, the guy really had such a hissy fit that somebody could suggest that not all women are submissives and he can't walk around and just "help himself", it ended with him being rather unceremoniously being shown the door.

I just posted this to another thread, but it's apropos here also...

i am starting to think many of the females on this site are actually men behind the keyboard.

Do a search of craigslist for any fetish word you like and just switch the "m4w" versus "w4m" around, and tell me what you find?

For example, just this very moment, I search for "dominant m4w" versus "dominant w4m" in sfbay.craigslist.com
295 = http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/?sort=rel&areaID=1&subAreaID=&query=dominant+m4w&catAbb=ppp
9 = http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/ppp?zoomToPosting=&catAbb=ppp&query=dominant+w4m&minAsk=&maxAsk=&sort=rel&excats=
The ratio is roughly 30:1 claimed men to claimed women.

Let's try another search in the same area, this time for a threesome, by simply searching for "m4mw" versus "w4mw":
1,169 = http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/ppp?zoomToPosting=&catAbb=ppp&query=m4mw&minAsk=&maxAsk=&sort=rel&excats=
100 = http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/ppp?zoomToPosting=&catAbb=ppp&query=w4mw&minAsk=&maxAsk=&sort=rel&excats=
The ratio is roughly 10:1 claimed men to claimed women.

Just for completeness, let's pick a kinky word, say, "bdsm", and try "m4w" versus "w4m", to wit:
96 = http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/ppp?zoomToPosting=&catAbb=ppp&query=bdsm+m4w&minAsk=&maxAsk=&sort=rel&excats=
1 = http://sfbay.craigslist.org/search/ppp?zoomToPosting=&catAbb=ppp&query=bdsm+w4m&minAsk=&maxAsk=&sort=rel&excats=
The ratio is roughly 10:1 claimed men to claimed women.

Then, look at the roughly 1/10th of the ads of the women seeking the kinky men, and your gut feeling will vary, but, for me, it seems like roughly half the women are actually men asking for pictures, while the other half are women asking for money in one way, shape, or form.

Point is, men vastly outnumber women in seeking sexual gratification on the freeweb, and, male scammers vastly outweigh genuine females in fleecing the male population out of their money. It goes with the territory.

Do the math for your area and tell me what you find.

FriendlyMuppet -> RE: Is it really a numbers game? (4/29/2014 10:02:03 PM)

Some people have a alluded to the problem that I suspect is where it stems. On the web, you'll find a lot more men trying to achieve something immediate of some gratification, whereas women tend to be looking for something a lot longer lasting and worthwhile. It's why I've rarely ever had trouble finding someone in a bdsm community to associate with from the female side but when trying to find someone online, it's almost impossible. That's why I focus on online as a great area to communicate with people and share ideas. But when trying to find someone, you generally have to join conversations in the real world. Now, that isn't absolute, as a dominant woman I first made contact with was nearly a decade ago online, and she and I have been close friends ever since. But if we would have left it to only online interactions, chances are we would have parted ways very shortly after first communicating.
