I am small time. A couple tomato plants, basil,.thyme. i also bought and planted 10 asparagus.starts. i ignored the instructions, i just dug.holes and threw them in. I did fill the holes as they grew. So in 2 years i will have lots of asparagus every spring.

Never heard cukes and summer squash before...only know butter squash...

But I sooooooo can't wait to get a spade into my hands again[:D]

Cukes is just short for cucumbers.

Summer squash is a bunch of squashes. Zucchini, straightneck, crookneck, and patty pan are the most popular.

Butter squash could be either butternut or buttercup. They're winter squash, like pumpkins or acorn squash - few fruits with hard rinds and thick, flavorful flesh - as opposed to summer squash, which are unbelievably prolific, soft-rinded, and mild flavored.
