Well first, it seemed to be about pornography and not masturbation but perhaps you think that it is implied.
Second, when I see something like this I tend to make it generic and so I saw it as encouragement to help those around you that have problems and are hurting because of them, of course keeping in mind that one man's problem can be another person's pleasure.
To me it, something like this, is less about what the problem is and more about what it is doing to the person, to me if the person is happy and thriving, then no matter what the "problem", it's not a problem but if something is standing in the way of that, then no matter what it is, it's a problem and if you can help, then by all means do so.
