How bout rehashing old themes with film adaptations of video games Love to make a remake of road warrior,but cant afford the copy rights,make fallout the movie good story,familiar setting,instant hit if done right How bout pirates of the Caribbean,well that franchise is just about dead(thank god)but how bout adapting Monkey Island to the big screen.Any of you who also spent much of the beloved child hood pointing and clicking away with guybrush threapwood know how much of the game made its way to the movie,so why not make it into a movie Any of you see the last deathrace2000(which is also a remake of a 70s cult classic with extra cheese),didn't it look like they were trying to make Twisted Metal into a movie?I wanna see sweet tooth do a magic trick...hey,where'd the pencil go?

The one "retelling" of a movie's story that has impressed me, of late, is season one of the TV series, Hannibal. I didn't think it was possible. But instead of competing with Silence of the Lambs and its performances, it just starts anew. It's grizzly, of course. But it is positively poetic. The production design, the cinematography. The casting! (Lecter's psychiatrist - what an inspired casting!) The reserve of the actors. It draws you into an insane surreality. I need to look and see who is directing this.

Tank Girl... I'd like to see Pauley Perrette in the lead on that one. (see NCIS) "A Dog and His Boy".. Harlan Ellison writes some really weird shit and the movie version wasn't bad at all. A Crimson Pirate is such a good movie if they reboot it needs a new twist... Jet Li and Malay pirates would do it. But, dang, Hollywood, there are so many excellent stories out there why keep rehashing old ones? I still say H.Beam Piper's story "Little Fuzzy" would be a good one and it's in public domain. And think of the toy marketing. <grin> One I'd like to see rebooted with modern effects is "The Raven" from 1961. The original had Peter Lorre, Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, Tor Johnson (50s wrestler), the original Vampirella (Cassandra Peters really copied her for Elvira), and a badly acting nineteen year old Jack Nicholson.

You're right Anjelika, I completely missed that. Not bad. Still, I think Adam Lambert has more range and since he probably has the wardobe already, they could save some money. After all, the first movie was low budget, they should do the same for a second, lol.

I did not see it but the chief complaint about Carrie Underwood's Sound of Music performance was that her acting was terrible.

The guy's accent is so thick he is hard to understand at times.
