LadyPact -> It's March! Let's do the roll call! (3/1/2014 11:23:40 AM)

It's March roll call time, ladies! Time for us all to check in and talk about what is going on in our world.

OK. February didn't quite work out the way I intended. The submissive got sick. Very sick. He's just now coming out of it. We'll be going to see him again today, which will be the first visit since Valentine's Day. Yes, MP wanted Me to see him on Valentine's Day. That was monumental for us. I'm "in love" with them both and it's amazing.

The other part of My life is all about the move. Alaska is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't recommend living here. We're blessed with a mild winter. Patches of grass out there in the snow. Who would have thought?

March will bring anniversaries for Me. MP and I will have been married twelve years, soon. He's stuck with Me now.

Had my hip procedure done yesterday so I am not limping around the house. Went grocery shopping today and got some snacks. Got to call bunches of pills on Monday.

Going to bed...

I'm still riding the "happy wave" from when my Alaska submissive came down to visit me later last month. WooHoo!

My best friend made it through her hysterectomy splendidly & they got all the cancer. WooHoo again!

I've been looking for a more local to me submissive also & I think I'm getting to know one now that might just work out. Hopefully that will become a WooHoo also. lol

We're still getting some on and off snow down here. Very pretty. I went out walking in it today and it was a winter wonderland. I'm still waiting somewhat (im)patiently for spring though! [:)]

February was filled with doctors' appointments and although March will also have many, not quite as much. But there is progress...slow progress but progress all the same.

As many here are already aware, the endocrinologist put me on insulin, which I'm ok with (for now anyway, lol). My thyroid issues mess up how most drugs work, so insulin is for the best.

I get the uptake done this coming week and then begin thyroid supression medication. I'm praying it helps these hot flahses that have me waking up soaking wet. That is really the worst.

Physical therapy is going as I suspected, which is not terribly well. But I'm not giving up; I will keep trying until the end, hoping that as my blood sugar comes under better control and the thyroid meds start to work, things will improve there as well.

I was hoping not to take a meals worth of pills a couple of times a day and I do take less but only by three.

I'm looking forward to trying some of the recipes that Chatte, Athena and LC gave me for mushrooms and spinach.

We are expecting another big storm here in NJ, although it went from 10-12 inches down to 3-5. Many business and scholls have already closed for Monday based on the predictions, so I'm expecting to hardly get much snow at all, lol.

February was long for me.

March brings some crazy stuff at my jobs.
My man has been going through some things which has led to a decline in intimacy (all senses of the words) between us throughout Feb. I'm hoping he starts to feel himself again soon.

Best of luck to everyone in March!

February was a pain in the neck, finally finished a few projects and while I was super happy about that and thought I kick back a bit and relax, after 3 days of doing that, I became antsy and bored...

Currently gearing up for another trip to LA and sorting out everything here, we're also swapping all the furniture around as H has bought some more vintage guitars and amps (if he ever plugs that 100 Watt 1972 Hiwatt in, our windows and the windows of the houses around us will be blown out), he's about to buy some 1962 Gibson, so the plan is to make some guitar racks to house the 30 or 40 damned things...

I'm also trying to clear the garage, decided to change the diet of the pets to mainly raw food, that kibble stuff is overly processed and not too good, so we will need a freezer unit in the garage for the cats and dogs.

Then there's the house in Wales where we need to finish renovations, we had rented it out to (former) friends, who absolutely trashed it, never seen anything so dirty and so seriously messed up, we spent most of our spare time last year gutting it, a fortune on companies to get the mould out (idiots never opened the windows and dried their washing inside amongst a ton of other things, damaged the big glass sliding doors out into the patio...), I dedicated 2 summer months in just trying to find the patio under all the dirt and plants that grew there, so we're hoping to get that finished.

The 6 Nations Rugby Cup is on, so there will be tons of friends visiting, and I'm afraid the tone might be a bit loud and rowdy, I guess I'll just be hiding in the office and let the boys yell at the screen.

Apart from that not a lot happening...

Last month was all about getting my musical confidence back. S and I gigged once, and as is his pattern, decided not to pursue further musical work when offers were forthcoming for regular performances. Which left me back where I was 5 years ago before collaborating with the bands: a solo act. The venues keep wanting to book, so I've committed.

They want the upbeat celtic/contra fiddle stuff. Fortunately, I can play contra piano too. I have three weeks to pick music, record backing tracks on piano, dial all that in electronically so I can literally 'play with myself' live on fiddle. Surprisingly, it's going quickly and very well. I forgot how efficient I can be with all this when not having to coordinate with 3 other mates. A neighbor gave me a nice square piece of solid oak to use as a tap board. So between backing track, fiddle, accordion, and feet...well, who needs a band anyway?

I will still continue to look for simpatico musicians, but in the meantime this is fun, even if I have to be my own roadie.

March is a great month bc it's my BDAY MONTH!!!
(The 5th)
I have no idea what's planned. No one is telling me anything.

Oh yea, miss Kitty Devine is going through a rough patch, so could we say prayers for her?

LafayetteLady -> RE: It's March! Let's do the roll call! (3/2/2014 6:37:22 PM)

I'm sorry to hear miss kitty is having ttrouble. She's added to my list. Happy birthday early K!

OK Please don't die of shock at this apparent resurrection! I'm feeling like the star of a TV show that's about to hit Aus TV! I've not been here forever, but I have missed you all. Lovely to come back and see some familiar faces! Hi to LadyPact who has found a new sub, happy to hear that. Happy Birthday to K as well, and commiserations to those with health issues (after My breakfast tablets I'm a maracca!).

So a quick update. Not sure if I was last here before or after I got the PhD awarded, but I am now Dr Jay *grin*. I've been in a wonderful job for a year ... which is why I've not been here! HUGE learning curve and I have been working monster hours, but I hope to rein it in a bit this year and get more of a life. Loving it so much though, this is a great Uni, and I've made a very auspicious start there. Some media flurry over My research was good too!

Master and I are still living in the 5th wheeler van, paying off accumulated debt before We can interest a bank in giving Us a mortgage. Master has turned into #1 helpmate - He now does ALL the shopping, laundry, washing up AND took over the cooking for the last 6 months (He is a brilliant cook, I feel totally outclassed!). However, He is still Master, NOT My sub LOL. It does make for a slightly tricky headspace for Me at times though. Sadly, Our beloved little dog died last September but We still have Our 2 lunatic cats.

I met up with a local subbie boy I had talked to for over 2 years prior to the move here, but he turned out to be a flake :-( There's another I've spoken with and met once briefly but he lives about 1.5 hours away and is studying so doesn't have a lot of time either. Hopefully I can pursue that a bit more now I have time to breathe again.

I hope to check back in a bit more often!

Maam Jay aka violet[A]

It was a bit of a shock, but a very pleasant one. Congratulations, Doctor!
