Do you feel it was a mistake to remove the no necro policy?
Mistakes are nothing to be ashamed of, that's why pencils have erasers.

Join the brotherhood of 'no necro' and make a difference!

OsideGirl -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 6:25:15 PM)

I voted against removing the necro ban.

Now, we have people responding to threads that are 5 years old to tell the OP that they're an uncollared kajira.

Hillwilliam -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 6:29:34 PM)

I think that removing the necro ban has helped stupid people to out themselves.

If it makes em more visible, I'm all for it.

Blonderfluff -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 6:31:35 PM)

This week has been bad for that! It's mildly annoying.

LadyPact -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 6:38:26 PM)

I was also against the decision for the removal of the rule about resurrection of necro threads. So far, I haven't really seen anything that has added any significant content from anything brought back from the dead. It's not exactly bringing 'new' information. A number of threads have been resurrected just for the new entry to say it agrees with all of the others.

We don't really have that many new threads that are created. It's My opinion that going back to the prior rule of asking a poster to create a new thread and link the old subject would be the better path. Of course, it's the site's decision.

ARIES83 -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 6:39:41 PM)

I was thinking of a colouring competition to get people excited in this new and hip movement/philosophy of "No Necro", however there were logistical issues with people having to scan and print things to be involved... Not to mention the inevitable use of MS Paint by those wanting an edge on the competition for perfect colouring inside the lines... Which then raises policing and fairness issues.

So I issue this challenge!
Do you have what it takes to create a catchy slogan or chant? Something that can be yelled by an angry mob fighting for change?
Then perhaps you would like to test your skills against CM's finest! And enter the...

"Just say no to Necro!" Slogan making competition!

The winner will find their creation filling pride of place I'm my sig line! And that winner will definitely NOT be getting paid in bit coins.[;)]

Howz about.... Nercro is DEAD - leave it dead!!

LadyPact -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 6:50:04 PM)

Maybe something funny, like "Necro threads aren't zombies. Don't bring them back."

Spiritedsub2 -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 6:51:00 PM)

I was a supporter; I thought interesting old threads would appear. That isn't how it worked out! I was wrong, I'll sign on [:)]

Blonderfluff -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 6:51:41 PM)

Dead threads tell no tales

MasterCaneman -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 7:14:13 PM)

I was on board with it before, but I have to agree it hasn't worked out that well.

anniezz338 -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 7:29:12 PM)

I supported it. It has kept the boards more lively and the threads I have mostly seen are revived by new members, which is always a plus.

Darkfeather -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 7:43:33 PM)

I think someone should revive the thread about banning necro threads...

I wish it would "catch on" with the likes of

Prodomme threads

Fat threads

submissive Vs. slave threads

People won't answer my e-mails threads

"Fake" threads

...

I can't think of any more, at the moment but I'm sure there's a few I left out.

I supported the move because it seemed kind of silly for newbies to show up, post a thread about (see above) and get verbally bitch-slapped by the "regulars".

Then, they (sometimes the same ones, even) would resurrect a necro thread and get bitch-slapped by the moderators.

It made no sense.

I still support the move.

TheHeretic -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 9:22:36 PM)

I think it would help if the "most recent post" button worked. Go in, roll eyes, leave, and skip the scrolling and date checking.

I say leave it. Different threads speak to different people, and if somebody gets a good moment getting it off their chest at someone who left years ago, they out to be able to.

Except for Spinner's theads. Those should day down, to avoid login creepouts.

LafayetteLady -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/2/2014 11:23:37 PM)

I want them gone again. There are enough new threads on similar subjects. I catn stand thinking there is something new to find out the thread is a couple years old. With the same guy ressurecting all of them.

AthenaSurrenders -> RE: The Anti-necro Alliance is now recruiting. (3/3/2014 2:11:04 AM)

I don't really care either way, but I do think it would be useful if it was easier to see at a glance that a thread was old. Some forums have the background of old threads tinted a different colour, so you can see easily that it's a dead thread. It would at least cut down on the number of people posting without realising how old it is - in theory they would only post if they thought it was worth reviving, not just to say 'me too'. Also make it easier for other forum users to see that it's a necro and not waste their time responding.

In fairness to the new users that tend to do this, if they use the search function it can be easy to miss how old a thread is. Some of the quieter areas are so slow moving it must also be easy to click back a couple of pages and end up on a thread that's years old.
