ORIGINAL: deathtothepixies seems to me that all threads that mention guns now have to go into one catch all "unmoderated gun thread" the Alzheimer's thread has been stopped but the Chinese knife thread, which has clearly turned into a gun thread continues... too many uses of thread but wtf. I know you mods have shit to do but you can't lump every thread/post that involves guns into one, it just doesn't work. There are too many different facets to each thread to just pretend they are the same. Thank you for moderating collarme x 1. BamaD started that threat in a subtle attempt to pre-emptively assault any threads that might ask the next most logical question: If firearms were used, would the devastation had been the say or far greater? Except most non-'gun nut' types can see straight through the bullshit for what it is: pushing his political agenda secretly. 2. Knives are to the Chinese what Firearms are to Americans. Doesn't take a genius to follow the logic to the correct discussion, does it? 3. Alzheimer's is a terrible disease. I wish more funding would be placed to not just find a cure but help those families in America cope with medical bills related to it. Is it surprising that the same folks that fantactically defend firearms on the Chinesse Knife thread are ALSO the same ones that would be against the US Government spending more money to help the two directions I mentioned? 4. Some threads are more...sensational...then others. I brought up the thread about how researchers might be 5-10 years from developing a rejection free lung transplants for those that need them. It got like four posts, since most people are generally in favor of such stuff. But firearm threads tend to draw more posts because not everyone is in the same boat. 5. The moderators are usually not thanked for their tasks of 'keeping the peace'. Which is to say many firearm threads generally head towards boiling points, to which the moderators have to step in. Its not likely to happen on a thread for Alzheimer's Disease. Nor on threads for cancer, or depression, or many other horrible mental or emotional illness related topics.
