Hello I am a furry friendly bear of a man from south central Tennessee. New to CM this week and still just feeling my way around. My interests include listening to music, I am a jr grade audiophile with a fetish for Polk Audio speakers if anyone wants to geek out with me. I get into mostly classic rock and jazz, but I also enjoy bluegrass, old country, trance, classical, progressive rock and I am a big fan of the Grateful Dead and Frank Zappa.

I also enjoy cooking, in fact that is what I did for a living most of my life. These days I only choose to cook for those whom I love and cherish. I am a gardener and I work in a lawn and garden shop. Much lower stress than the old days in the kitchens! I read science fiction mostly. Isaac Asimov is my favorite author and I also enjoy David Brin, Ben Bova, AC Clarke, Carl Sagan, Ursula LeGuin, Greg Bear, Niven and others. I also spend time online. I have been online since 1986 in one form or another. Yes I even had a Compuserve account and my first hard drive was a ten megabyte platter that I thought would never get full.

I have lived around the United States starting out in Alabama, then through Atlanta for a bit, up to Syracuse for a bit, out to San Francisco for a while, inland to Sacramento for a couple of years, up to the Oregon coast for a couple of years and then over to Chicago for a long stay. And now finally I end up back here in the south not 45 minutes from where I began. I've seen a bunch of places along the way, and lived in a bunch of different relationship dynamics and environments. I feel lucky to have led the life I have so far and look forward to the next adventure.

Welcome to the boards sub bear. Wow, what a well thought out intro. Very impressive. Lurk on the different forums, or jump right in. I get the feeling you'll fit in well within the circus, fun time, serious threads, ridiculousness, silliness, alla ball o nuttiness aka CollarChat.

Thank you for the welcomes. Yes I have had a steep learning curve the past 24 hours about 'the other side'. Many offers to become a submissive for people if I only add them to my yahoo chat account, with no other interaction at all? Or the offer to become a submissive to a man in South Africa, no need to discuss anything or get to know each other, just a simple yes or no? Fortunately I am fairly well equipped to filter this kind of thing out. And it seems that my 'fresh meat' status has started to wear off already. Onward and upward!

Yeah, I guess we kinda left out showing up on the "new member" list on the other side. Oopsie, our bad. But, much to your credit you're handling it well, you know to ignore them, and most importantly you're not whining about the "fakes n scammers". Believe me when I say plenty of people don't get that this is the Internet.

We really are, for the most part, a great bunch here. Like anywhere else, we argue, we tease, some don't ever get it, we laugh, we're your every day random bunch of people you'd find anywhere.
