Not romantic, or lustful. Perhaps a shiver in the moment after. * * * * * I cast a stone into the pond to watch it sink and drown it broke the water's features and it tumbled down and down. I marvelled at the ripples as they rose and spread to fall too many to be counted and I could not know them all. In times I've been the water in times I've been the stone but now they are together and now I am alone. The mirror slowly cleared itself until there was no trace of wrinkles on its surface or the mar upon its face. And with the water clear again the stone was plain to see lodged far beyond my furthest reach a sunken memory. In times I've been the water in times I've been the stone but now they are together and now I am alone.
