If memory serves, it was changed because there was one (specifically that I recall) or two posters whose OPs always seemed to wind up here and there was something of a bru-ha-ha as to whether or not it was an editorial stance of the site/admins. It could have just been serendipity but a case was made for some being "singled out". I could be wrong. My memory is shit.

I always thought 'snippets' sounded all molly-coddly, church-lady tea and crumpets. If it walks like stupidity and quacks like stupidity, it's stupidity. I say snippet. Just because it's already been changed to stupidity. I'm difficult like that. Really, I think "stupid" fits the category more appropriately and separates off-topic from this section more.
