Punishing reporters for truth, in a censored media.

Learn how the media game is really played here.

And this is news why?

This has been going on for centuries.

Because the people with the gold and power make the rules and reporters are cannon fodder in the way of the political dogma bulldozer of history?

Or because it is not that hard to silence someone you really want shut up.

See predator drone attacks and rigged car accidents, if you are a conspiracy theorists.

If not just see how the government, any government manipulates the media.

Do you believe most of your peers, or even most of the folks here share this opinion?

Truth seems to be under attack across the board.

Wellesley College professor Julie Matthaei, who describes herself as a "Marxist" on her college's website, is crying persecution and accusing a pro-business group of "Red-baiting" for describing her in an advertisement as a "Marxist." And as you might expect, the title tag of the Boston Globe web page carrying the story leads with "Red scare" and sourly dismisses the advertiser as a "murky pro-business group."

Then there's Sandra Y. L. Korn, a Harvard senior and joint history of science and studies of women, gender and sexuality major, arguing (seriously) in The Harvard Crimson, "Let’s give up on academic freedom in favor of justice." Her idea of justice, of course. One can only wonder how a senior at Harvard can be so blissfully unaware that her twisted view on the value of truth is the hallmark of corrupt prosecutors everywhere.

Kirata, I'm not sure how your post is relevant to punishing mainstream reporters for telling the truth. But then, even though the video spoke of nothing but mainstream reporters being punished for reporting the truth about major stories, I didn't specifically mention this in my OP.

If your purpose was to express that hypocrisy abounds at all levels of importance, and on both sides of the partisan aisle... hopefully most of us will agree.

That's one example of truth being under attack. I posted a couple more. Seemed close enough to me.

Reporters, truth?

It's all about selling the venue and the shots are called by the owner of the venue.

Equally a problem is that anyone would take something like this as "truth." It's an angry opinion piece by someone who disagreed with the editorial line---i.e., opinions. None of that has anything to do with news.

But the public is more concerned with opinions than with news, and consumes what reinforces what they already believe.

While you're raising the flag, you're also in the same position, just a different boat.
