What are you trying to do to get there?

I can reach subspace the first time I play with someone. All it takes for me is bondage and pain, and sometimes just bondage.

Orgasms, however, were much more elusive, and it turned out being in a committed relationship was the formula for that.

Well that's a pretty good question. I guess I always assumed it would kind of just "happen" if I enjoyed the play enough?
I don't really want to put a ton of pressure on my man to help me achieve it or make it feel like a chore for him.
But I guess I should apply those same rules to myself, huh?

Anyways- I guess I don't really have an answer for that, except just...doing things we like?

Physiological subspace is easy for me with activities that generate endorphins or adrenaline, like impact or fear play.

This author's definition of psychological subspace doesn't click for me exactly, but psychological subspace happens too, often the day after play, like a good hangover.

not to be contrary, but i don't need to know my partner well to hit subspace. or to relax well with them, we can simply be that lucky. or good.

As a volunteer for my local play party, I frequently hear about subspace. After getting the image of Nichelle Nichols out of my head, I noticed that the ones who talk about it most often are in committed relationships or, at the very least, are playing with people they have known for a very long time. So I think getting into subspace requires being able to relax into the scene because you know your play partner that well.

What he calls psychological subspace, I just call chemistry. Doesn't mean he's a good partner for me, just that for whatever reason there's a click.

I wonder if the op has ever done sports. If so, did you ever hit a sweet spot, where you could just relax and still hit the ball (or whatever) without even thinking about it? Where you were just present and in the moment? Because that's akin to subspace. Runners get it, they call it runner's high.

I ride horses, swim and used to run, so I know what you mean. Sometimes with swimming, I feel so "on" and "good", same with horses, there's just moments when that's all I'm focused on- perhaps I'll try applying the same thought process more to kink and see what luck I have.

I ride horses,

Think of it like that. It's sort of the way you feel when you are riding across the hill.

Oh my LP! Now every time he's riding me into subspace I'm gonna be thinking of riding a horse! [:o] Thanks! [;)]
