I have seen people posting about this topic, and they always insist that it is an issue that no one takes seriously. Wow. Powerful video. I think it's a very serious issue. Add that it is MUCH more hidden than domestic violence against women, and it becomes a mostly silent struggle. Domestic violence in any form is abhorrent. Both men and women who have suffered it, feel shame. When we lift the stigma, and the biggest cross-section of society stops blaming the victim, hopefully men AND women will seek help more openly. I think we have made great strides. I know it can be better.

I dislike violence, I know coming odd from a sadist, but I don't see a consensual act as violence, violence is abusive, abuse is a big NO NO, and it doesn't matter what the gender of the victim is.

FR Nice video. As usual it focuses on the physical; I always think it would be nice for more awareness ads to focus on some of the psychological forms of abuse. But it is good that it is aimed at male victim/female perpetrator. I just hope that the organisation has the services to back it up. When I worked in a DV organisation, though we had both male and female clients, there was much more we could offer the women. So many housing and counselling services are open only to women and children. Men often fell through the cracks, which, coupled with all the social barriers which stop men reporting in the first place meant that their situation was much less hopeful.

Actually I was just looking for a video I recently watched, where the genders are switched and found that really amazing... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V4UWxlVvT1A Whenever people claim something is not such a big deal, I tell them to reverse the gender, if it's wrong to hit a woman, it's also wrong to hit a man, and most straight men start to understand why being touched on the butt or getting wolf whistles is not a compliment for most women, when you tell them "Oh well, if we take you to the gay district, how pleased would you be to get that? Or guys staring at your crotch...."
