Tastes vary, and some will find this not to their taste, or even not in accordance with their values.

Tonight though, this is how I like it, and how I'm rolling. [:D]

Rich, I don't usually drink bourbon, but I'll join you in My own way. Cheers!

I'm ashamed to admit that I don't recognize the bottle (and am having trouble reading it).

However, if your point is that some people would be appalled that you're "polluting" a grand nectar by adding something to it, I frequently put that ghastly Southern Comfort © into my Diet Wild Cherry Pepsi©

Hahahaha....

I had to look it up.

I've never had Bourbon. I'm a aged pure malt whisky girl, and I don't add anything to it as a cold drink. I may have it in a floaty coffee on occasion, and the same with Brandy. I'll spend quite a lot on a bottle of whiskey because I rarely drink, so it's a treat when I do have it.

each to our own.

Sorry, I am an Amaretto gal...I blame the Italian I was dating back in the 80s...

smileforme50 -> RE: How do you make 'em? (3/15/2014 8:09:38 AM)

My dad made me a drink one time that (if I rememer correctly) was made from Bailey's Irish Cream, Kahlua and rum. He told me is was called a "Dirty Mutherfucker", but he called it the "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling". I've been trying to find out what the actual commonly accepted name of this drink is ever since.

I have NEVER seen this combination in any bartending manual since then. There are dozens of drinks with the combinations of Kahlua, Bailey's and vodka....but not rum. The only thing I've ever seen that closely resembles it was called a "Liquid Lamington".

Has anyone ever had drinks with Kahlua, Bailey's and rum? What were some of them called?

Ewwww, that sounds way too close to a bad college-days memory. I haven't been able to even smell Southern Comfort since about 1979, lol.

Me too (not the Italian part)! Amaretto sours are my fav.

Jack and coke is my fall back drink. I just recently had Tennessee Honey Jack and coke and fell in love.

TheHeretic -> RE: How do you make 'em? (3/15/2014 8:14:33 PM)

Domestic whiskey, and imported Coke - they still make it with cane sugar down Mexico way.

Well add vodka and it's called a Boys Are Stupid. Add Cream and it's a Liquid Lamington.

Back in the day when I partied a lot, my drink of the night was Alabama Slammers and/or rum and diet pepsi. These days, not much of anything at all.

Some stores sell coke in the ethnic aisle, in the Mexican section. I'm wondering if that's the same. I'll have to look next time.

That's going to be the stuff. It is more expensive, but I think it is well worth it, to taste "the real thing" again. I don't know it's nationwide, but I've seen cases of the 12 ounce glass bottles at Costco for about $17.

ShaharThorne -> RE: How do you make 'em? (3/17/2014 3:55:30 AM)

Also look in the little Mexican grocery stores.

littlewonder -> RE: How do you make 'em? (3/17/2014 3:14:23 PM)

You can buy Mexican Coke in every single little corner market here in Baltimore. There's a place on every single corner here. It tastes like the really old fashioned Coke...has a bit of a bite to it. Pretty good.

LadyPact -> RE: How do you make 'em? (3/17/2014 3:21:44 PM)

Thank you, GT. [sm=cheerleader.gif]

Usually, I'm a beer drinker. I used to do the jack and coke thing, until I overdid one night. Can't stand the smell of jack, any more. I've have since discovered the bliss that is single malt Scot's whisky. I love that the flavor is markedly different depending on distillery. I wouldn't DREAM of diluting a single malt with anything.
