ORIGINAL: MasterRobert007 Someday I hope to reach this higher level of consciousness. I am purposely refraining from writing what I really think, in the interests of decorum. Instead, I shall focus on your quest for higher consciousness. This is simpler and much less likely to garner me a gold letter. This 'higher consciousness' you seek can only be attained through several steps, both internally and externally. The first step is to divorce yourself of the need and desire for material things. This is not to say you must renounce all worldly goods and live as a vagabond, but to reduce, eliminate, and divorce those tangibles that distract you from your goal. Anything that causes you to lose focus on attaining the level you seek must be set aside. The second step is to give of yourself to a larger or higher purpose. The hows, whys, and wheres are entirely up to you. It could be the armed forces, the Peace Corps, volunteering in soup kitchens, and so on. This is to allow you to exercise your latent empathy within, and make it a viable part of your emerging consciousness. It is important that this personal endeavor must involve significant sacrifice of your personal time, freedom, and energy in order to be fully efficacious. The third step is to divorce yourself from the banal and lurid that motivates you now. In order to become what you seek, you must cast it off in order to attain it properly. No more pornography, clubs, or other elements of the scene. All you desire must come solely from within yourself. At present, you are following a path written by others, not your own, no matter what you think. Only be deep introspection and self-analysis will you attain that which you seek. You need not surround yourself with candles, crystals, or the other trappings of transcendentalism, all the tools you possess are latent within you. Take some time, divorce yourself from the trappings of what you seek, and find it within yourself before attempting to seek it elsewhere.
