Five years ago, you could not swing a dead cat (or a live one for that matter) without hitting some one or some used car dealer selling old model pickups or jeeps.

I have been looking for a pre 1975 CJ or a dodge or chevy pickup, 4wd because the state has opened some public lands to 4x4's.

It doesnt even have to be running. Just as long as the body is decent, and the drive train aint trashed. If it is a pick up, I want short bed.

There is a gentleman (use the term loosely) a few miles away that has a 69 CJ 5, body has rust, driver's side floor board is gone, engine is siezed, driveline needs rebuilt, and he wants 15,500 for the damn thing.

Other wise I am going to Arizona, Nevada, Utah, or worst case, California.

Have you tried calling any junkyards? There are a few "pull the parts yourself" type junkyards next door in LA.

I kinda need the base vehicle before I can pull parts for repairs.
