What do you mean by "security ID?" Driver's license?

"Security ID?"

That could be anything. The answer, of course, would be: No, I don't give out that information to someone who isn't my spouse. Would you like to meet at (insert coffee shop name here) for a beverage? What's your schedule like?"

Chances are this is a scam, so my guess is when you insist on a public meeting, sans "ID", that will be the end of that.

Next profile.

Honestly, I wouldn't tell you even if I knew which security ID you were trying to find (on your computer, your credit card, etc.) because this sounds like someone trying to run a scam on you.

Why don't you ask that person?

Then you get to decide if you want to give it out to a complete and total stranger you met on the internet.

I suspect he means a slave ID, but anyone who thinks buying a number off a slave registry site makes a person a slave is delusional and should be avoided.

Honey, stop thinking with your vagina and use your head.

Male or female; I'm sharing my personal information with NO ONE until after we've exchanged bodily fluids. Plain and simple.

I have lived with my lady for a year and she has her bank account and I have mine and we have ours. She doesn't know the password to my side of the computer; not that there's anything to hide or I don't share just about everything with her. Like most people, I use three or four really good passwords for everything.

OP, I would NEVER agree to sharing my license info to get someone to agree to meet with me. If I'm meeting them in a public place and they don't want to go for that, they're probably a scammer or way too non-trusting for my tastes.

Security ID? The person asking sounds like a scammer. Besides not knowing just what they're asking for, you shouldn't be giving anything like that to someone you don't know anyway.

Do you really want to meet someone who is so clueless they don't know what they are asking for?

The only "Secure ID" I know of is a trademark for a company that makes secure login software and hardware.

I'm new here and from reading this post I have to say something. First DO NOT give out your information to someone on line it is a scam. if they ask you to prove that you are ok.... just by signing into a website and using your credit card to verify who you are DON'T. It may say free but you will get billed around 100.00 in a few days. Watch their e-mail addresses when they are replying. It may be "Jane Doe or John Doe" writing to you but the e-mail address will keep changing another sign something is wrong. Like most said here today If they want to meet you meet in a public place if they are real they will meet you if not no big loss they were not worth knowing anyway.
Have a great day

It's not uncommon to show a DL. The "safe call" method involves the following steps.

1. Prior to meeting, the woman gets the man's full name, address, and phone number.
2. At the start of the meeting, she verifies the name and address from his DL.
3. She makes a safe call to a friend, to let the friend know that it all panned out.
4. Sometimes she calls again after an hour or so to let the friend know that everything is still okay.

If the safe call is not received, the friend calls the cops with the man's address.

Yeah, it's a bit paranoid, but I've gone along with it before once or twice.

I've always insisted on some variant on this when meeting someone from here for the first time. Better to build trust.

And if she leaves her cell on the restaurant table while she goes to the bathroom and the guy answers her "safe call" from a friend... it gets a little too interesting.

Yes, weird shit happens. <grin>

I don't believe in exchanging real names, addresses and so on before a first meet. Because you could get there and within 5 minutes decide you never want to see the other person again. So you get into your separate cars and leave forevermore.

It's when you decide you do want to have a second, third and so on date that I want the info. But why do I want his info, and why should he have mine, if we're never going to see each other again?

My ex used to use this system and I used to think she was an idiot for thinking it made her safe in any way, shape or form. The only thing this proves is that the person you are meeting is capable of reading info off a dl. It doesn't prove that the dl in question wasn't printed in someone's basement. And if the dl is correct your friend can give the cops the address where the body might be. It does nothing to make sure you are safe.

Short of having a bodyguard along on the first date it is the best choice.
