And nobody applauded?

Between all the um's and ah's, was he trying to make a coherent point?

I guess the Europeans finally see through his shit, I wonder when America will wake up?

Isn't this now the same line of commentary that Bush was ridiculed with in the end?

"The only thing Putin respects is strength ... At this point the Russians are openly laughing at the president," Cruz, R-Texas, told the Washington Examiner.

And I should give a shit what he thinks why? In my opinion the fact that Putin thinks so little of Obama only raises Obama up in my eyes. The man is a pig, and contrary to what some idiots may claim the majority of the country thinks the same.

It was predictable, given how woefully unprepared for the Presidency he and his idealism were, but it isn't a good thing for the country when the world doesn't care what the President of the United States thinks.

Sounds like more of the republics cheering on pootie.....

Continue your make pretend while the rest of us ponder reality..........

http://www.factcheck.org/2014/03/romneys-reach-on-world-opinion-of-u-s/

"Mitt Romney said he couldn’t think of a single “major country” that “has greater respect and admiration for America today than it did five years ago when Barack Obama became president.” Although America’s stature worldwide slipped last year, its favorability was still much higher than during the last year of the George W. Bush administration, including in major countries such as France, Germany and Japan, according to the latest polls from the Pew Research Center.
Romney, the former Republican presidential nominee, made the claim about the perception of the U.S. under Obama during an appearance on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
Romney, March 23: Our esteem around the world has fallen. I can’t think of a major country, it’s hard to think of a single country that has greater respect and admiration for America today than it did five years ago when Barack Obama became president. And that’s a very sad, unfortunate state of affairs.

When asked about Romney’s comments during a later segment of the show, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin said Romney was “suffering from political amnesia.”
Durbin, March 23: Does [Romney] remember the reaction of the rest of the world to our invasion of Iraq? The fact is that many of our stalwart allies of the past thought it was a terrible decision. What President Obama has done is restore a working relationship.

Romney’s comments align with the growing concern among Republicans that America’s standing in the world is falling. According to the latest poll, concluded in November 2013, from the Pew Research Center, 80 percent of Republicans (and 56 percent of Democrats) said they believe that the U.S. is “less respected by other countries than in the past.”
But what do residents of other countries actually think?
The Pew Global Attitudes Project conducts an annual international poll asking residents of other countries about their perceptions of America and its people. We couldn’t find any questions about “respect,” but Romney’s use of the word “admiration” matches up well with questions about U.S. favorability.
The Pew surveys released in July 2013 — the latest available — found that “the ‘Obama bounce’ in the global stature of the United States experienced in 2009 is clearly a thing of the past.” Still, half or more of those surveyed in 2013 expressed a favorable opinion of the U.S. in 28 of the 38 nations polled. That’s markedly better than under Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush. In its 2008 poll, Pew found only nine of 23 nations polled reported half or more residents with a favorable opinion of the U.S."

The puppy love America exhibited for Obama has been winding down for a while now. Other issues like the use of drones hasn't helped him all that much. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see the Republicans take the next term, even if the Dems drag out Hilary and the elephants trundle out another Palin.

There's a low undercurrent taking over America that feels very much like the one in Canada, where the masses seem to be shifting towards a general consensus that they don't care whose puppet is put on the pedestal. If that changes, it could easily turn the other way, because a quiet crowd with the right incentive makes a very efficient mob.

Another Palin who suggested that Putin might invade the Ukraine if Obama were elected.
Mean while Obama was visiting 56 of the 58 states.

Well being Canadian, I have no vested interest in either side. I had the same instinct back when Bush Sr was winding down and Bill came out of the woodwork. People were upset, they wanted a change, and it didn't matter what the change was.

When appearances cool down enough, that's the kind of thing that happens, and not just in America, either.

One thing we do to our candidates for President is force them into absolutely insane campaign schedules, and expect them to get up and speak in front of cameras constantly. Then we watch what sort of stupid things come out of their mouths.

In this case, what fell out of then candidate Obama's mouth about having visited 56 of 58 states was (my guess) a reference to 58 targeted areas his staff had outlined for him in some late night briefing.

Some of those mic goofs are pretty funny though, and the system does let us see how a person looking to hold the most stressful job on the planet holds up under stress.
