I have been using Vista for a while now and I love it.  At first it was hard to get used to compared to Windows XP, but I am in love.  If you get the opportunity, try it out.  If you have any questions about it I can answer them now that I have played with it for a while.   I am using Windows Vista Ultimate.

I know my husband wants it terribly.  He drools a little everytime he hears about it.  We're just too poor to go upgrading our computers right now, though.  We're planning on waiting a year or two, when it's cheaper, and getting it then.  Glad it's working out for you, though.

Hi sits.  Welcome to the boards.  Not being snotty, but I thought I'd let you know that there's a welcome boards specifically for first posts.  If you already knew that, well then, just welcome.

I have the AMD 64 Dual Core, when we overhauled My Puter back in April we installed Win 64  but so many programs wouldn't run on it that we went back to win XP Pro...
I'm naturally hesitant to try a new OS  at this point Maybe later & when I do I'm sure I'll remember you SK...

I am one that will wait till all the bugs are worked out a little more.  It wasn't till this past year I bought a new laptop with XP.  Also I have a lot of programs that are not compatible with it.  The cost for all the upgrades isn't something I can justify to myself.

Good luck with it, from what I have seen it looks like a lot of fun!

Be safe and be well,
irish

You are probably talking about Windows XP 64 bit which was a free upgrade for A64 and Intel EM64T computers.  Vista also has 32 bit and 64 bit, but My CPU is an old 2.8 Prescott.  One of these days I will get around to overhauling it.

I am jealous!! Vista hasnt been released in Australia, and even though i personally hate Windows for being a very closed institution, and networks suck on it :P, i would still love to sink my teeth into something new.. the new office looks good, although i have noticed computer products have been getting dumber and dumber lately, so i hope this isnt the case.
(Anyone who has installed optusnet DSL can confirm how stupid that program is!)

have a great day everyone!
Love,
Ania

It hasn't been released here either.  The people who are running Vista now either have the public beta that was made available last month or are participants in the Microsoft Developers Network.
