People CONSTANTLY misspell/mess up my username and I HATE it!

Do people ever misspell or mess up your username? Use a shortened version of it? If so, what are some of the different nicks people have called you? I've gotten many nicks...some just because, some I've just made up myself for comedy relief, and some from friends trying to be cheeky: glide, glyde, glyd, glid, gylde, glydewynd, glydewind, glidwinde, wynd, windy, wyndy, wind, winde.... ~grin~ then there's also astroglide, astroglidewynd, and astro. Most common seems to be glide, and I kind of like that; my whole username seems too long to bother typing out sometimes. Really, I could care less...as long as it's apparent enough in a chatroom that I know when to respond if someone's actually talking to me. [:D]

LM and M/malinche seem to be the only ones that I have seen. I tend to use LM when I am writing a joint personal message, which is amusing because I use my initials in meatlife as well. And thanks glidewynd, I now ave SNL skits running through my head. Makin' copies with the banditman. . . the bandinator. . . the band-i-rama. . .

I sometimes get called just brooklyn.....Im back home in NY now since two weeks ago...but while I was in florida....a lot of people at work, not even knowing my screen name, called me brooklyn. Hmm, is my accent that strong ? lol

I think its kind of hard to fuck up marie. But there are people in my rt life that I have known for years that still think my name is Maria. Im often called Mary as well. I dont correct people any more. Its not a big deal for me.

I'm the only one who ever really messes up my screen name. When I'm typing it into the search feature for the forums (the easier to reply with, my dear) I tend to always type in "NakedOnMyChian" for some reason. Isn't a Chian a type of dog? I don't particularly want to be naked on a dog.

I like my user name but it really doesnt bother me when people change it especially when they shorten it to DD * giggles* It never dawned on me that I'd be called double D on a BDSM web site... yep everytime I see that I get a giggle

I like my user name, except when people shorten it to Evan, because invariably they think I'm a guy. I actually used to call myself Evan, and found it really amusing when a guy I'd been speaking to got really freaked out over it, because it was too "masculine" and he didn't want to be perceived as being gay. But now I've gone all girly, and I almost always use my real name - except with prospective slaves. They call me Miss Ev.

LOL, someone(i think it was LAM or Level) once called me twiceowned in a post. I loved it so much i added it to my profile entry. A lot of folks shorten mine to 2x when answering a post, i do not mind as i shortem just about everybody else's too.

Level is pretty easy to type (except for certain multi-ID folks who think they're sharp by saying "un-level" lol), but there was one guy at Alt that always typed "Leavel"...... maybe he wanted me to go.

Names are just labels to me; something to associate with a person you like or hate. Names can hardly ever fully describe all that a person is. In some cases people use names to garner respect they are undeserving of; few people fall for such acts.
