Why do you think most schools have a liberal bias? Why do you think most science has a liberal bias. In extension to that, has it ever occurred to you that the world around us has a liberal bias? Because it clearly does.

History has proven again, and again, and again, and again that conservatives who try to maintain things and make it seem the way they things are always will be, are wrong. The roman catholic church was conservative in comparison to a more liberal Galileo, as was Darwin despite his massive conflict between the church and his research which resulted in his works being published later than he had written them. Creationsm = failed theory, geocentrism = failed theory, even trickle down economics = very failed theory which has proof all around us.

Science as a whole values diversity of thought more than anything, but that doesn't mean they have to weight all possibilities with the same and equal value. Should we value a theory that fire can burn under water because there is oxygen in water? Or should we throw it in the garbage bin with all of the other worthless theories?

Science puts questions and different thoughts to the grind stone, and if a hypothesis can hold up against proper testing, then it can be examined further and from different angles by other researchers.

Just because you throw a hissy fit about how people won't consider your points of view with any weight doesn't mean they should. Face it, the world is not fair, it's not balanced. What is true, is true, no matter how much you believe to the contrary. If your points of view did hold any weight, do you think we would be having this discussion? Hell no.

And it's pretty hypocritical for you to say I don't value diversity of thought, considering how much research I've sent your way which you have still failed to discuss in detail.

Well considering I know that the earth orbits around the sun and that the universe is 13.8 billion years old, I'm gonna say I'd rather have a brain made of mush than one filled with lies.

Also, this is just another example of how horrible american education is. If you can't even accept what is true instead of what is balanced between liberal and conservative, then you have no hope as a country moving forward.

None that you've told (at least as far as I remember), but lies stemming from the conservative right in general. Creationism, anti-intellectualism, climate change denial, etc.

Climate change denial isn't a lie. If someone doesn't believe what you believe they are a lyer in your liberal mind. When you get out of your teens you will see that there are many other opinions you might want to listen to.

It's not belief pal. If someone believes and is adamant that the ground beneath your feet is actually a liquid, do you put his belief up against the tested facts which show that the ground is solid and say they're equal? Climate change isn't a belief, it is a fact. Facts are facts whether one believes in it or not, and will continue to be facts long after they put your body in the ground. I don't believe that climate change is happening, I know it's happening. Why? because there is conclusive evidence saying so.

Someone can have the opinion that the sky is red, that pigs fly, that we're in the matrix. But does not mean they are right or that their beliefs should be considered to have as much weight as a scientific theory? No. But still, go ahead test those beliefs, hold them up against the scientific method. But when those beliefs fall flat on their faces, why should we still consider them a possibility on this earth?

Maybe they're not lying, maybe they're simply delusional. One way or another, they're wrong. And to continue saying that they're not is not only an insult to the human intelligence, but it's an insult to the countless human beings that came before us that allowed us to reach this current level of technological sophistication.

Actually global climate change is a fact. If it wasn't we would still be living in the ice age. Now how much humans have contributed is often debated, but that isn't the same thing. Personally I think things were much better when we took care of the environment because it was common sense and not because some idiot was using scare tactics to raise taxes or play some political game.

I disagree in the whole scare tactics, as it isn't a scare tactic to state that storms will become more intense and sea level will rise over time. That will happen in a warming climate. More water previously locked in ice and energy in the form of global temperatures is added to the climate system. But it is a scare tactic in the sense of a prevailing doom, but I feel like this has more to do with the perception of climate change rather than politicians saying "we will all die if we don't do something."

However I do agree that raising taxes and playing a political game is not what the response to climate change should be. It's hard to even say what the response should be, since science does not tell us what should be, it tells us what is and what will be given the parameters set out. All I know is that too much is being invested into the currently strong oil and gas industry and not enough into alternative energy and technology research and development. If the governments around the world diverted even fraction of what they already give to the fossil fuel industry, it would finally be a step in the right direction.
