Is an IDIOTIC word! It doesnt matter if its whites being racist to blacks, or blacks being racist to whites, or any race being racist to another races. Its racism. Not reverse racism.

and yet the phrase manages to communicate quite clearly... to you and to most other people. Is there some reason it makes you crazy? In the end, the point of words is to... you know... convey meaning.

I think the point is that racism is racism; it doesn't matter from whence it flows or toward whom.

Because it has been used on Fox news, anyone with any media resource knows it. Still stupid as Cobalt said.

I justthink it implies that racism against whites is somehow different from racism against other races. That its okto be racist against whites because of what they did in the past. Well, im sorry but all races have done terriblethings. I want equality and we cant reach that until ALL races give up racism. Weneed to make it so racism of any kind is wrong.

I can go with that. There seems to be a pernicious notion afoot that racism isn't really bad if it's "helping" someone. But, yanno, that cuts both ways. I'd have been much happier to see special programs created to bring the underserved who are willing to do the work up to par so they can meet the qualification standards not only for college but also wherever such standards exist for employment and promotion. Another pernicious notion holds that "disparate impact" is ipso facto evidence of racism or whatever the "ism" du jour happens to be.

That's the thing. It seems, the only way to deal with racism, is to enact racist policies (or, "reverse racist" policies). Things like "Affirmative Action" are racist policies that require skin color have an impact on hiring. Not exactly what MLK was talking about.

Black on white assault is certainly treated differently than white on black assault. One is pretty much always racism, while the other isn't usually racially motivated.

It's sick and perverted, imo.

ETA: and not perverted in the good way.

Never mind that the term has been used in the media since before there was a Fox news.
It goes back at least to the 70's.

Reverse Racism doesn't exist. Racism is discrimination based on race, period.

A philosophical equivalent of a double negative. Reverse racism would be totally ignoring race at all.

Correct, reverse racism doesn't exist. However, racism is a system created and maintained by the minority caucasian population through all areas of human activity to maintain their power over the majority non-caucasian population through the control of resources; mostly found in non-caucasian areas. So it does matter. If I'm not liked by whites, jobs, housing, education can be denied to me. If I don't like whites, I have no such power and if I did, I wouldn't have that decision-making capability for long. The most I can do is not allow them in my house, club, etc. Neither affects their self esteem, income, way of life. It may hurt their feelings but that's due to the arrogance of believing all doors are open to them. For the record, its not just past wrongs against humanity and nature, its also present and future actions.

I've seen a lot of posts called racist, and people have argued over which ones, and how racist or not they really were, but that's all in the past now. We have a winner.

So refusing to hire me (they said so, it wasn't my assumption) is ok because denying me
a job because of race is somehow less harmful and less racist than if they do it to you?
