lol... Will I've admitted plenty and there are no nail holes in my palms...yet.

Butch

Actually, the nails go through the wrists and heal bones. If they went in the palms, the weight of the body would just rip the palms apart and it would fall to the ground.

They taught us all that stuff when we enlisted in the Roman Legion. Pay sucked and they really had no winter uniforms to speak of, the tunic, armor and that cold wind blowing up under the tunic would freeze your balls off.

Not to mention that all the marching songs were in Latin. Bet you guys sounded like a punch of pissed-off monks during PT, huh?

The Spartan army was worse.

I keep saying I is an old geezer

Fast reply.

Yeah. OK.

Next, somebody is going to piss on My leg and tell Me it's rain. Sorry, but I'm calling bullshit where I see it.

Edited for an early morning typo.

aaawwww, thank you Poise! however, my birthday hasn't happened yet.........unless of course they managed to spring us forward in time too without us realising.

damn it, how do they do this? I need to know the secret to all this time travel stuff! lol

needles

may be we should have taken bets for how long it would take for the first of these treads to turn up. however, some credit to the poster for at least using the search button.

thanks for the birthday wishes lol

If you're up for a bit of time travel, you might want to check this thread out. If the posting times are correct, you can at least post in the future. I've been thinking of going over there and asking them for the most recent lottery numbers, and a belated happy birthday to you, of course. [;)]

Edit: additional thought.

Lady P, why would you doubt that I am that old? I was born in 1961... BCE.

PeonForHer -> RE: CM's downtime (4/7/2014 1:31:26 PM)

JLF, you should stop wearing red, especially around Christmas. And, within a decade, either shave off your beard or dye it. Just saying. Otherwise, in say fifteen years time, small kids are going to start tugging at your trouser leg, come December, with the obvious and deeply humiliating question. That happens to a friend of mine frequently. It's not good.

Alternatively, you could just shoot any little fucker that asks you *that question*. I'm sure the courts over there would OK that response as fair and reasonable, what with your 2nd Amendment, and stuff. [:)]

Actually, you cant shoot the kids, not that I want to.

As for "that question," I take it that you mean "Did they have TV when you were a kid?" or "Did they have cars when you were a kid?" and worse, "What is Blue Oyster Cult?"

At one time, I owned all the playbill posters for the local venue from my high school years, BOC, Deep Purple, Kiss, Aerosmith all from the box office displays the night the concerts closed.

In a fit of anger upon hearing that I was going overseas for a couple of months, she burned all of them.

And the reason I was going overseas, President Reagan told the Commander of the Joint Chiefs, who in turned told the Commander of the US Army, who told the regimental commander who told the battalion commander who told the company CO who told all of us we were going to South Korea for 3 months.

I probably could have told everyone in the CoC that my wife wanted us to go to Iowa to attend a family reunion of her family, but somehow I dont think they would have granted my leave request.

It appears that.......

"The Collarchat forums are back online after a hardware failure. Posts made between 4/3/2014 at 6:04 AM and 4/6/2014 11:43:02 AM are not present on the forum however we are looking into the possibility of retrieving them.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience."

It was indeed an inconvenient time for such a failure, wasn't it?

I imagine heaven and earth is being moved to find those missing posts, in their entirety.

I imagine that it's of no concern of mine, nor am I going to lose any measurable amount of sleep over the horror of this possibility because....I don't pay a DIME FOR THIS SERVICE (ergo....if they don't [find these vastly important posts that will no doubt change our lives immeasurably]..my life will move forward just fine).

That actually was the biggest piece of irony...because there is no way in hell they want to retrieve those posts.

Okay, call me computer illiterate and dumb. When the forums where down how in the hell could anyone make posts? I certainly couldn't make a post to forums that were not accessible. So how can posts which could not have been posted be retrieved? I'm completely confused.

kalikshama -> RE: CM's downtime (4/7/2014 6:00:22 PM)

"4/6/2014" is a mistake - the forums were down on the 5th.

I just love how someone always has to bring in money in to these thing, like it makes any difference what-so-ever. let me tell you something; it makes no difference at all. I've been on a paid site that had all this crappy behaviour from its owners, and 'staff' too.

free, or otherwise, it does not make it right. nor does it mean that people have to put up, and shut up just because it's a free site. yes people can leave, yes life goes on, and so will the site. however, we still have freedom speech, and people comment on the crappy behaviour of others in here all the time. I don't see why we can't also do the same about the crappy behaviour of the mods just because it's a free site.

This. Absolutely.

Let's see how long it takes before egos are dented and the ban-hammer starts to fall.

ah but, we all know now that on the whim of the owner even the mods don't last forever, and nor would it seem do the bans on the whim of which ever mods are then brought in to replace them [;)]

OK...that made my brain hurt lol

But yes, I think there will be many nights and many long knives - and not all of it SSC or RACK [8D]

needlesandpins -> RE: CM's downtime (4/8/2014 4:48:04 AM)

I'm sorry bity bunny, I didn't mean to make your brain hurt. I was just thinking about how many banned people the new mods have brought back. it doesn't exactly hold much threat when their position is just as fragile as anyone else's.
