blueskysailor -> Suggestion for the website-but cannot find a suitable forum to post it in. (4/14/2014 2:11:46 AM)

Good morning everyone, and especially Moderators.

I have been a member for a little while and I have a suggestion which I think will improve the site a little but I cannot find and forum/room to suggest improvements to the site or even comment on the working/functions of the site. Please forgive me if there is a correct place for this but I could not find it. If there is not, can I please request a forum for suggestions to the site?

One thing that has bothered me a little for some time is the term "dom/dom" in the pulldown box for what a member is seeking - It is unclear if this means what sex this refers to and I believe it causes confusion. I know very well that traditionally "Dom" generally means a male and "Domme" generally means a female. However many people on the site use the term "Dom" to mean a Dominant person in general also. Collarme gives us the ability to choose "Male Dom couples" and "FemDom " couples but "Dom/Dom " does seem to confuse people. I think it would be better to use the term "Dom/Domme" or at the very least to say "Mdom/Fdom" which would make sense and this could even allow you to have the option of "Tdom", I suppose if there are Trans people involved.

Can my suggestion please be considered seriously by the site's webmasters (or even site's websubmissives, haha - if that is their inclination).

Many thanks , and please move this message to a better forum if I have posted it in the wrong place.

Hi there!

I see what you mean, but that will mean adding a lot of extra options to account for couples where both parties are male doms, both are female doms, both are trans doms, and each possible combinations. And then if they're going to do that, they will have to do something similar for sub/sub couples too. In reality there are very few dom/dom or sub/sub couples so I don't know whether it would be worth their effort to add so many extra options so that the very small number of people it affects can be more clear about their genders - once you click on the profile it should be obvious anyway.

Welcome to the message board side by the way, hope you stick around and join in some discussions.

Hi there, and welcome to the forums!

Your idea is great. My particular peeve is that couples must be specified to be either Dom or sub - no options for the obvious MDom/fsub and FDomme/msub. However, I've heard that the forum software was written in the 1930s and is held together with chewing gum and duct tape, and that changes are almost unthinkable.

We've been told many times that changes to the site that require any coding are basically a no-go, so I wouldn't hold your breath for that to be considered any time soon.

Welcome blueskysailor. It's a great suggestion, but until and unless it's implemented any qualifiers that don't fit into provided boxes can be addressed in your narrative. Doesn't help in the case of designated searches, but hopefully folks know to use those as a baseline, then fine-tune the search by reading profiles.
