....when they puke on your bed while you're at work, and you come home, see it....opt to clean it up..... They just sit there, look at you while you have the wet rag in your hand, and you get that whole look of.... "Thank fucking GAWD you're here.....do you have ANY idea how long I've had to look at this shit?"

I "think" I have learned that when my cat Gnocchi eats dry food at night she vomits in 3-4 places...but if I withhold dry food and about 2-3 am I put a small amount of wet food in her dish...she never vomits.....just my take on things...she usually only vomits when dry food is available.

You get up at 2 - 3 am to feed a cat???? My male Siamese was pretty easy going, even though he ruled this part of the block. The female Siamese, who lived 19.5 years, was so used to me getting up at 6am that when I semi retired and could sleep in most mornings she would sit at the bedroom door and howl until I got up and fed her. My cats main food is always canned, they have dry food out but just snack on it. They don't get the moisture they need from dry food. Remember cats can kill a mouse or bird and eat it raw so their digestive system is geared for fresh raw meat. I have read where a animal that pukes or urinates in areas frequented by their owner, in this case your bed, is pissed off that you are not there. There are other reasons for puking too and a google search would be in order or maybe a trip to the vet.

Cats are very good at being cats. Mine have not started puking hairballs yet as i guess they are too young. But i know the hairballs will come....

To be honest, anniezz338, my cat really never pukes hairballs just food...I never see hair in the puke....I do feed her grass too and never see grass in her puke either...it is a curious situation....she only pukes dry food and sometimes wet food.

My previous cats definitely puked hairballs, sometimes with food, sometimes not. I've heard grass can ease their nausea. I also gave them hairball medicine and it seemed to work well. They must have enjoyed it because they ate it up.

FR Please. My lab pukes piles bigger than a whole cat - wolfs down dry food, drinks too much water, redeposits both on the landing of the stairs. This normally happens about 10 minutes before my alarm clock goes off, so I can find it (by eye or otherwise) on my way down to make coffee.

Regarding puking, my girl usually does it when she did eat too greedy.....does not happen often....but when it does, its regularly being observed... And yes, Cats have staff....unlike dogs, who have owners...

Brush them regularly and they will have few if any hairballs. My Abigail is a big longhair and has never had one. I brush her almost every day.

I had one kitty who used to 'pop' regularly when I still lived with the parents and two other cats. Moved out and over the course of his remaining 6 months with me (RIP :() he only 'popped' once or twice. My kitty I have had for about a year and a half now almost never pops. I think two of the three times she has was when she ate my birthday flowers...

Git kittens used to eating yeast tablets, they help pass the fur balls. Long hair cats tend to have more fur ball issues esp in the spring.
