Second Militia Act of 1792[edit]

Front page of a newspaper announcing the second Militia Act of 1792.
The second Act, passed May 8, 1792, provided for the organization of the state militias. It conscripted every "free able-bodied white male citizen" between the ages of 18 and 45 into a local militia company. (This was later expanded to all males, regardless of race, between the ages 18-54

Which newspaper?

The Bama Daily. [;)]

Actually it was the Columbian Centinel and it only took about a minute on google to find. Not that you should let facts get in the way of a good slam, just sayin [8|]

So he quoted google....... I knew that already brains.

Of course you did. So I guess this means you only said "bama daily" because you are so used to lying about the guy, you can't stop yourself. Otherwise you would have admitted up front that you knew where he got it.

An still yet, my question goes largely unanswered by anyone. The point was, 'why should I bust my chops' to find where the information originates? I was not asking BamaD in a mean or sarcastic manner. And if BamaD feels that way, my apologizes. I just wanted a source for the information.

I don't believe it was your question that was objected to but "polite"s inference that I made it up.

ORIGINAL: Actually, the so called militias such as the ones that supported the rancher in Nevada do not meet the legal requirements to be recognized as such. They are not answerable to any government authority such as a sheriff or governor.

They are organized under the Posse Comitatus as preached by Henry Lamont Beach.

Most of these so called militias are listed as extremist groups by the Department of Justice even under Republican Administrations, they fall into white supremacist groups, extremist religious groups, the sovereign citizen groups such as the one that Terry Nichols belonged to.

Which begs the question: Are there any illegal state militias? (Let's see.... freedom of assembly..... 2nd Amendment.....
an armed group planning treason/sedition/insurrection doesn't fit any known (or unknown hehehe) definition of "state militia").....)

Offhand, I rather think not.
(As distinctly opposed to so many who would rather not think. Onhand or off).

This has NOTHING to do with the topic. Good try at bullshitting. Maybe you should go read the first post to understand the nature of the thread....

Yep, all of us pro gun folks is just waitin fer the chance to go out and shoot up some schools, non christian community centers, shopping malls and a couple of political rallies.

Do you happen to have any validation for this ignorant unsubstantiated opinion[:D]

You are aware that once one amendment is repealed, others can follow just as easily.

There does not seem to have been a rush after the last repeal of a constitutional ammendment.

I know. It sounds so commonsensical, doesn't it? With some things, the theory looks just so absolutely rock solid, people can't believe it - can't even see it, pretty often - when it refuses to work in practice, year after year, decade after decade.

It most certainly does! I did read it. I am not a bullshitter so you may accept this [sm=spanking.gif][sm=spanking.gif] ha this was actually meant for the thread where the exchange student was killed.

Here is the fun part. The next time you have nothing to do and lots of time to do it in go back through the statements of the punkassmotherfuckers on here who say the kid got what he had comming...we find that these self same individuals have bragged about doing the same sort of shit...they got away with it so it's kewel but the exchange student didnt so he "got what he deserved" .
Just an observation of reality.

I get your point, though with 50 states and the different variations of laws, I can see why it wouldn't work in practice. However I'm sure the word's out in that neck of the woods. It's far less likely these idiot types who go into garages will be doing it in that neighborhood and especially at the house of the shotgun welding homeowner. Who knows, if everyone in every state started shooting these little pricks for comin in their garages then it's likely a whole lot more of them would decide to chase girls or watch a video.
