Did you see the episode of American Pickers when Mike Wolfe found the Von Dutch motorcycle?

"Mike got a call one day from a friend telling him about a Von Dutch motorcycle. Two things probably popped into Mike’s mind. First; BOGUS!, because Von Dutch stuff is so rare. Second; I’d better get there quick before someone else does. And he did. What he found was the bike Von Dutch had built around 1966 along with paperwork that had Ed “Big Daddy” Roth as a past owner. He made a deal on the spot and took the motorcycle home with him. Real pickers don’t fool around when they find something great."

Greedy, we must be sisters separated at birth! I've owned a VW Bug, a VW van, and a Silverado short-bed with a V-8.

I know what you mean about MOTORs. The last three cars I've owned have had V-8 engines, 'cause you HAVE to have speed to get out of so many situations caused by Those Who Cannot Drive.

I miss my truck most of all. :-(

I had a 66 mustang, A candy apple red Nova with metallic paint with the fancy wheels and jacked in the back. Oh oh oh and a spoiler.

Funny to think about.

I love the old style trucks, the really old ones.
But a 60's red corvette with T tops! That would be so fun.

A '58 Plymouth Fury. That's what I want. Ever since Stephen King's 'Christine' - a car of that model possessed by a demon.

I wonder if the price of them shot up after that book and film?

Omg...that is the car that we had in drivers ed. in high school.

My favorites (for "Muscle" cars) were my '73 'Cuda (completely white, inside and out) and my '72 Chevelle (All Black/Grey).

The 'Cuda featured a 340 cid (I was almost able to get a 413 semi-hemi for it) was bored (10 over), a six pack, and 3:83 gears. It did a consistent 11.2-11.5 at Raceway Park.

The Chevelle was a MONSTER. 454 quick shift with the Chevrolet Limited Slip gears. I had to put two "heavy bags" in the trunk for traction, when I took it down to the track.

Honorable mention to my '74 Maverick that came stock with an eight cylinder. It was a decent "sleeper".

Your description of your Cuda gave me chills.
Growing up all of the neighborhood kids had a variety of cars, because of my size my brother fit me in a 1972 Datsun 240Z and I remember learning how to speed shift in his 55 Chevy.

Not really that I noticed. In the mid 80's you could find late 50's Plymouths pretty easily, at least in and around Georgia. The real action was in the Chevy's. Ragtops were a bit harder since those tops didn't stand up all that well even in the south.

Did anyone catch that giant auction last September where some dealer had kept everything he didn't sell for decades?

I am not sure they classify as classics, but 2 cars which still give me a smile on my dial is a Holden Monaro which i owned for about 3 years and a Landrover series 3 109 which i owned for about 4 years. What wonderful memories i have of those 2
