you really think he wont get top dollar for this team if forced to sell? there is already a long list of potential buyers and that is not what a buyers market is, they will all be crawling all over each other throwing money at Sterling to be the one that "wins" the right to over-pay for the team.. that is called a sellers market..
Public outrage is all well and good but 30 or so years too late, imo...

People are already piling in to attempt to get the team. But, how many people scramble to stores to get the "Black Friday" deals and then walk out when those deals are already gone? Of course people are lining up to try to get the team for a steal. Who wouldn't?

Sterling has to sell. He has no choice in that matter. Now, all the bidders are bidding against each other to get the final sale price. Sterling has no input.

Contrast that final sales price with an owner that doesn't have to sell. The final sales price will likely be much higher because you have to convince the owner to sell on top of outbidding everyone else. You could offer double every other bidder, but if the current owner doesn't like your bid, you don't get the team. There is your "top dollar" figure.

And, no, Sterling won't get that. And, yes, he's going make a shitload of money on his $12M investment.

No, he would still need to get fair market value for his team.. and imo the bidders will be bidding hard to get the team, not bidding to steal it, as there are not a lot of teams that come up for sale very often.. But that is a long time from now, the NBA has to attempt to force him to sell and then there will be multiple court battles after that.. he will probably be dead before that is all concluded (as he has cancer, apparently).. and if he dies then his wife & family will likely be the beneficiaries so at that point there is no reason or purpose in the NBA forcing a sale as he will be out of the picture (assuming the NBA even wins in court).. And Sterling is well known for being litigious so I don't doubt he has some legal aces up his slimy sleeve.. don't underestimate him, he may be 80 years old and racist/sexist but he is one very sharp lawyer.. jmo..

oh and btw, he is already readying to sue the NBA for the ban.. this is gonna be one hell of a fight.. he might just decide to live longer cuz of it! lol

The NBA put out a statement today claiming that if the owner with controlling interest is forced to sell, all other owners lose their right to retain their ownership. It's in the contract or by-laws. Problem arises over the term "controlling interest." Mrs Sterling claims she owns 50% of the team. Furthermore if she files for divorce before the sale she will be awarded 50%. But the counter argument is that she is still entitled to 50% of the sale income. The owners are expected to vote this week.

Did it enter your brain that the nba will set the minimum price? Why would they allow this moron to fuck up their money tree?[//b]
