ORIGINAL: DesFIP Men are visual and assume that women are also. Thus by showing the type of women and the activities they want to do, they feel they'll appeal more to women. They're wrong. Not necessarily. Before I read through this thread, I had the type of profile in question. My profile picture has always been the same, but after that I included pictures of myself and my former sub during play sessions as an example of the type of play that I enjoy (since deleted now that I know it's actually a turn-off). As for myself and other men who post those types of photos, it's more about letting any interested persons know exactly what to expect up front. Either you messaged me or I messaged you; here I am and this is what I'm about. And women do it too. There are plenty of female submissive and slave profiles that show themselves "in character", as it were. I've even met one woman who has links to videos of herself in her profile, which is a lot more graphic than a still shot. If you ask me, it's the easiest way to break the ice without needing to beat around the bush. And it's not universally a turn off. Before reading this thread, I'd had some submissives simply message me with, "sexy pics, Sir!" So, you can't rightly say that all women respond the same way when they see pics of a Dominant with his sub. Some of them may get turned on, and imagine themselves in that position, doing those things! People are unique and respond as individuals, and for every woman that is visually turned off, there's another who is visually turned on (and I'd rather speak to her anyway). In fact, my former sub told me that she would show her ex-boyfriend bondage themed porn clips to give him an idea of what she liked to do! He just thought she was weird, hence her meeting me. So it goes to show that women can be just as visually stimulated as men, and to assume they won't be has more to do with your perception of women than how women actually behave. However, since the general consensus here seems to be that those types of photos in profiles are a turn off, I've decided to experiment and see what kind of replies I'll get, if any, without them. And with that being the case, why not offer some suggestions on what you believe women want to see, instead? Everyone's gung-ho about what women DON'T want, but I haven't read a sentence about what they DO want. Anybody?
