I am a hard core, gun owning, Ex-Military Sniper, NRA and  card holding Republican.

I am tired of people pushing any type of religion or belief system down My throat. I choose if and when religion is spoken of in My household.

I fully support the NCSF group and all of the good that they are doing.

Master Ken

p.s. If you come to my door with a bible you will be shoot and the signs are posted!

Personally I enjoy a healthy political or religious debate. I find them amusing. What is most amusing is how passionate people get. They start taking it personal, that they cannot convince the rest of the people to agree with them. They end up making fools out of themselves. That whole idea of......I believe what I believe, therefor I am right and everyone else is wrong.........it is a rediculous mentality. Their fanaticism only serves to strengthen my resolve that they are in fact, viewing the whole issue from a very narrow minded and fearful perspective and not someone I would want to agree with......EVER.
The idea that grown adults cannot discuss something that affects ALL OF US wether we agree with it or not is assinine.
In my personal opinion is that, anyone that is not comfortable talking about it, is so insecure that they cannot handle a disagreement therefor wish to avoid the whole thing because they view that disagreement as a personal attack on them rather than just what it is......not everyone is ever going to agree!
I despise most organized religiouns and most republican politians (actually most all politians)[:D]
I hate the colour orange........a friend of mine loves the colour orange........big deal!
It is my personal preference. I don't see someone going on about why they love orange as anything more personal than why they go to church every Sunday or voted for someone I think is a putz.
For those that cannot handle such a discussion.........get over yourself already!

Everyone should be free to discuss religion and politics. I don't agree with people knocking on my door, or stopping me in the street to preach and tell me that I will go to hell if I don't do X, Y and Z. However, I have been known to stop in the street and talk to some of the politer ones. I like discussions. "R" and "P", especially "P" make a great deal of difference to the way you liuve, whatever country you're from. The lifestyle is not so seperate from politics after all.

I personally don't care if people agree with me or disagree with me, I will still have the same view.

As an adult, I have no desire nor need for anyone to choose what I may discuss or not discuss. Censorship, in almost all it's forms, is a very ugly concept and there are already topics which are not allowed on these forums. Those who advocate censorship in one area, by default, must allow censorship in other areas as well. Quite the slippery slope. Where does it end? With the banning of books? If Person A wants political discussions banned, Person B has just as much right to demand that discussions on television shows be banned. Person C can then demand that no one ever mention death, marriage, divorce, birthdays, anniversary's etc.

Methinks it's better to keep Pandoras box well closed and skip over or block those posts which cause someone distress, whether they be politics, religion or something else. If a simple message forum can get someone up in arms, I suggest a bubble bath and a glass of champagne to soothe the nerves. In other words, take time off the Internet if you can't handle the cyber heat of discussion.

Is it really that hard to say that you're sick of religion? Go to another post then- sometimes people come to this site to find someone to be with 24/7/365 live-in and unless you're planning on both of you being gagged and having heavy sex/S&M sessions 24/7/365 (btw, if anyone is interested in that- hit me up with a message- lol, jk) you've got to be able to talk about things like that. And technically, isn't talking about different topics and getting different viewpoints what a DISCUSSION FORUM is about?

jezabelKH -> RE: Religion, Politics and The Lifestyle In Public Venues or Public Boards (7/30/2006 2:02:35 PM)

no not hard to say, i am sick of R and the organizations that support them, personally i feel all "R"s are a scam and are about money

cheshireboy -> RE: Religion, Politics and The Lifestyle In Public Venues or Public Boards (7/30/2006 6:46:07 PM)

i would always discuss anything with someone, cept if it is a hardcore issue like one of these, i will only do it in private.
