I've been trying to find a novel, in which the main character finds a way of framing himself, / herself, / of a crime which never happened.

Then as the story unwinds, it is told either looking back at the experience, with the situation of the main character still not clear as to what happens to them, or is told from the moment the idea is conceived until the end of the novels conclusion.

Ct, I responded with a Cmail, because if I answer you here, it would spoil the reading or viewing experience for those whom haven't read the book or seen the film.

Not exactly fitting your scenario, there is a film that you might like, which is based on a novel. The film stars Cuba Gooding, Jr., and it's called, "A Murder of Crows."

http://www.imdb.com/boards/

^^^ That is a free to join site and that page, specifically, is where writers meet to toss around ideas, discuss academic research related to film or tv or web stories, and genres, in specific forums.

ETA - That site also offers a spoilers' function so that you can ask, or be told, anything without the risk of ruining the story for others. Plus, yours is the kind of question being discussed there and you may receive a list in return. I mean of books or of films.

If you're interested in watching a mindbender of a movie, get "Momentum" starring Australian actor Guy Pearce. It unfolds in reverse time sequence.
