The heading should not be too misleading, but to clarify, I an NOT seeking to be a submissive/slave or otherwise have these things used on me.

Since stepping into this lifestyle, I have been handling the duties of being the Dominant in my relationship for several years. This relationship has been satisfying, however, i am now seeking to further develop certain skills. Namely the ones mentioned in the heading, rope play and obedience training.

These are two skills i wish to build my foundation on as i transition into becoming a Master and seeking out a fresh slave.
The end goal is to be in a confident position, where i am regularly training slaves and efficiently disciplining my submissive.

If there are any experienced Masters that are in South Florida, from Fort Lauderdale and down to Miami, that feel they have the capacity to teach, I'd very much appreciate the mentoring.

Hopefully i can develop these skills to a high degree and continue the community's supply of quality Masters.

I look forward to any relevant replies.

You don't train someone to be obedient. You inspire them by making decisions of such high quality that they trust you sufficiently to feel safe obeying.

You do that by being a person with high honor, integrity, quality decision making, honesty and so on. Are you at that level?

To the Masters that may either feel the same way (in which case i probably wouldn't accept your mentoring) or misunderstood what i was referring to when i said 'obedience training'.

I'm referring to methods used to train a slave, those that are common in BDSM, things like the use of crops and whips. These things require technique and technique can be trained.

So back to the point, I'm looking for tutoring in obedience training and rope play.

You do not use crops and whips to inspire obedience.

This is NOT done in BDSM. It might be done in porn.

You might be talking about punishment techniques. That is implemented once obedience is in place, not to make the dynamic. Punishment is not used universally, nor is the technique itself as important as the mindset and disciplinary interaction.

It's not that we don;t get what you're saying. We're simply universally disagreeing.

Hey Op, in regards to the rope side of things have you tried any local workshops? Usually a good place to meet people of like mind and perhaps matching skill sets to arrange a practice partner/tutor.

Maybe worth a try, good luck

@DarkSteven
I understand, and in that regard, yes, i may be referring to punishment techniques.

@TenderTorment
I have found one, it is simply too far to get to right now, but i do intend to make the journey.

You may want to look up command performance or dungeon depot. They offer a listing of educational courses, seminars and workshops all in south Florida

Are you active in your local community? That is by far the best method to find someone to mentor you.

Problem with the internet is that anyone can claim to be anything. Any idiot can claim to be super duper experienced and skilled with a whip but it doesn't mean they really are. Or that their style will suit you. Whereas if you meet someone through your local community you will know if they have a good reputation for safe play and if their skills match up with what you want to learn. Works both ways too - an experienced dominant is probably not going to offer his services based on this thread, because as far as he knows you might be a reckless player or otherwise a pain in the ass.

There are some nice videos on line, search for Knotty Boys, also Twisted Monk. I stuffed some pillows in a shirt, and set it in a chair, when I first started, to get the hang of a few rudimentary ties. After that, I would suggest you find a person and practice, practice practice. For me anyway, half the fun is trying new variations, given the circumstances and surroundings.

As far as punishment techniques, I don't really do punishment. I do however love to flog, cane, paddle, spank, etc. But I think this is also best learned with a willing partner. Everyone is different, they have different zones, what turns one person on does nothing for another. Can you not practice rope and impact play with your submissive?

@ DominantWoman65
Thank you for the recommendation, I had a quick look before work. I'll be sure to investigate further.

@ AthenaSurrenders
I am not active in my community. It's something i intend to be apart of, however, I'm still in the midst of fully settling in after moving to the area.

You're correct about the hurdles with meeting others over the internet, as well as possible comparability issues.
I've been successful meeting others via the same means in the past, so i made the attempt again but once I've made sure to settle in better, I'll venture to local events.

@ areallivehuman

I've actually been using The Knotty Boys videos as an aide. Don't know about Twisted Monk.

I have moved and now separate from my submissive. Till I've arraigned for her to move also, I may adopt the pillow idea that was suggested. (I haven't thought of that.)

Jay Wiseman's books are the basic safety primers in s & m and rope play. Erotic Bondage and S & M 101.

And he didn't train me to make his tea by hitting me with a crop when I got it wrong. He simply told me that I had mistakenly added milk to his, and had me do it over.

Other stuff, again positive reinforcement worked a lot better than punishment. Unless you want her obeying solely out of fear?

If you're talking about teaching her to have a higher pain tolerance, not everyone is capable of learning that.

You do that by being a person with high honor, integrity, quality decision making, honesty and so on. Are you at that level?

*training - noun
1. the education, instruction, or discipline of a person or thing that is being trained: He's in training for the Olympics.
2. the status or condition of a person who has been trained: athletes in top training.

I train my partner to be obedient. She used to think too much and it caused hesitation, she was in the habit of over analyzing before acting. I taught her the replace that mindset with the military pause, "1,2,3 go" because she does trust me. She can over analyze it later.

I see training and teaching as parallel in effect. It is the use of discipline in both aspects of the word (skill training / punishment). Whether self imposed or outside influence, whether the "inspiration" is out of trust in good leadership or otherwise.

@DesFIP
I've already come to a resolution that i may have used the wrong term for what i meant.

To old and future readers, when i said obedience training, I meant potential acts such as binding a slave and having her obediently receive strikes with a cane, being suspended and probed, shocked, spanked..etc.

The reason i may have mistakenly used the term obedience training is because i figured there would be a necessary training period and possible upkeep sessions, to maintain a slave's discipline to take each act/exercise/scene without undesirable squirming or complaint.

Perhaps these are 'punishment techniques'. I just don't intend to use them strictly as punishment and thus, didn't refer to them as such.

To those that offered constructive advice, thank you. I'll follow up on each one.

To those that simply added passive heckling, all i can do is continue seeking appropriate advice.

I'm not asking your opinion on the matter, not to say that i mind the corrections, I'm simply seeking out someone that feels as if they are knowledgeable enough and willing to educate me on the skills already mentioned.
however, as per AthenaSurrenders' recommendation, i may be better off approaching this matter personally.

That's pain tolerance. Some people can slowly have theirs increased. Others never are going to get to the level you want. And, indeed, if all sessions are intolerable pain, what she will learn is that she doesn't want to ever play with you.

What's a 2 on a scale of 1 - 10 in one person could easily be a 10 in someone else. You want to aim to stay around 7 max, and you need to do however much warm up she requires. If the pain is cold, that won't be a 2, it will start as an 8.
