use of spurs is to create more subtle specific cues
We are agreeing on this, I think we are at any rate.

I thought of use of spurs in a metaphorical sense but I also think of leading in a waltz or two step or other dance in the same way.

A man who knows how to lead, does not have to wrap his hand around the hand of the woman with whom he is dancing with.

So, with just the slightest change in hand pressure, barely noticeable, the woman knows which way I will lead her on the dance floor. I never had to grab her hand or pull or push her to get her to turn or spin. She knew from the slight touch which way I was going.

I did not originally see the link, and will admit to still not reading. But from your current response, I would say yes, we are on the same page. Tho I would replace the use of "need for spurs" with perhaps privledge? I don't need to use spurs of my broke horses, I can ride them without spurs and they are still get more precise responses then on a green horse.

About four years I had to put down my favorite gelding, I had had him since high school. I rode him most days in spurs and a heavy bit, (ones that my the standards of may bard biddies these days would be deemed as "inhumane"). But these same women would watch me ride and comment that I never moved, that it looked like "he just know what I wanted". What these women didn't understand is that there was constant communication between us, that we each understood what the slightest movement meant in each other. There was a level of training that most of them didn't understand.

In general, I don't like relating the training of an animal to the training of a submissive, as people have a level of understanding and cognition that is lacking in animals. But if we are taking about aids, it stands that their effectiveness and appropriateness lays not in the aid itself, but in how it is used and applied.

That does not mean you use it but that you have possession of them can create an atmosphere special, and suggestive to the submissive.

Have you ever been in a long term power relationship?
Because if he needed to create an atmosphere in order to have me submit, that would tell me we weren't suited to each other. He needs no special atmosphere, his personality and character are enough.

He needs no special atmospher

Humm, there is always atmosphere, even in outspace, meaning where the moon and stars reside, rotate, there is atmosphere in the emotions meant to be created or not by another.

The use of 'His Personality and Character' create an atmosphere. But, as the Dom, if he desired something different, a different backdrop upon which to paint his next masterpiece, for sake of his own inspiration.

Perhaps, however, we are speaking of two different things or for different reasons. Sometimes, this can be a part of semantics, of definition of words meaning something different based on
life experience,
how long having lived in this world,
and many other things.

You seem to be talking about play sessions here. I'm talking about real life. He doesn't need to have a paddle on the wall to tell me that he wants me to come along while he's buying auto parts because he wants the company when he stops for a snack.

This isn't occasional bedroom topping. It's 24/7, so I make zucchini and not peas because he likes zucchini and detests peas.

In the future, you might have less confusion if you made this distinction clear.
