Smileforme, was there any reason what with the suspicion you had didn't you perhaps
talk with your supervisor about this or perhaps contact the police concerning this? Just curious.

Well, of course anyone taking an anti psychotic must be somee criminal or unbalanced person.

Considering all the things anttipsychotics are prescribed for, including off label uses whatt smile just told us is thatt:

1. She is not a pharmacist (which we know from other posts anyway that she never finished undergrad so she can't have advanced degree)

2. She knows little about psychology and the various drugs used.

3. She has no problem abusing her position and invading peoples privacy to satisfy her own curiousity.

Makes her a worse neighbor than those she worries about.

My first thought is, MANY of us have no idea what the "backgrounds" are of our neighbors/or those who happen to frequent/wander around/walk thru/and or "hang out" in our communities.

There is a homeless shelter about a mile from where I live, and I am sure those that use it, "walk around" my neighborhood, or might even sleep sometimes in a wooded area.

I think many of us would be surprised to learn the backgrounds of many people that live or happen to be in fairly close proximity to us.

To answer the OP, I am not sure WHAT I would do.
I already have an alarm system, I might consider getting a gun/and or moving.
Can't really say what I "would do".

Reading this story and some of the posts in this thread where people have said there are sex offenders scattered about their areas, it occurred to me that they could put all of these released offenders in the same area or neighborhood. To borrow a line from The Great Escape, they could "put all the rotten eggs in one basket, and watch that basket very closely."

I remember when I worked in a pharmacy about 15 years ago....After filling scripts for about 3 dozen people, it occured to me that I kept seeing the same street name address over and over....and a LOT of the scripts I was filling were for antipsychotic drugs. Out of curiosity I went back and looked at the scripts I had filled. I couldn't believe it when I realized that on this one particular neighborhood street, there were TWELVE homes where at least one of the residents was on an antipsychotic. I don't know if this was a location for some special housing "halfway houses" or is this was just someplace where they all gathered....or maybe it was the only part of town they could afford to live. But it did get me to start wondering who was living behind the doors of the houses closer to where I lived.

I worked in a residential group home and the majority of the people there were on "antipsychotics" Very few of them were actually psychotic. So called antipsychotics are prescribed for a wide variety of uses including severe PTSD symptoms.

Many of them are also used as adjunctive treatment for severe depression. You have probably seen the ad for Abilify being used in that capacity. Abilify is classified as an antipsychotic.
Some of them are helpful for bipolar disorder.
And some of them are prescribed for severe insomnia.
I have been prescribed Seroquel in low doses for precisely that.
It works quite well.

Sometimes too little information can be a terrible thing.

She wasn't abusing her position, she was filling prescriptions and noticed the same street popping up. Short of blindfolding her while she works, I am not sure how she is supposed to stop that. As for invading their privacy, she had already worked on the records and wasn't digging into anything she hadn't already been authorized to see.

Actually going back and forming ignorant conclusions is invading their privacy and abusing her position.

At most she was a pharmacy tech, so she doesn't even have the education to know what the drugs are used for, which she made blatently obvious with her comment. Herr job was to count pills and stick labels on botttles, NOT tto ttry tto determine anything about the illness or lifestyles of those receiving the medication.

Its this kind of ignorance thatt plagues those with mental health problems and perpetuattes tthe stigma attached to menttal health issues.

Working at a pharmacy is not a meanss tto try tto determine whether you are living near potentially dangerous people which is exactly what she admitted was her purrpose for going back and looking.
