Ok....if I found myself to be nodding my head through that entire list.....does that mean I should explore being a Domme instead of sub?

You could undoubtedly switch around as it suits you and give yourself more options. It would depend on what you want in a mate. Doms your age and younger may be more tolerant than "traditionalists" - that I can't say with certainty - whereas Dommes tend to be distrustful of male switches. I'm distrustful of all strange men, so it doesn't matter to me whether they call themselves a switch or sub--they're bottoms as far as I know until they prove themselves otherwise. [8D]

I do know this, I found it depressing to be reminded of how much I dread the thought of getting with a vanilla ever again. [8|]

It's just hard as hell to find any romantic gentlemen in this day and age. Chivalry isn't entirely dead, but there's never any guarantee a submissive male will be any more romantic than any other kind of man. I hate to say it, but they tend to act much needier than your average emotionally immature, childish male.

Yeah.....I've had friends tell me (half jokingly) that I might really be a Domme.....but my impression has always been exactly what you say. *sigh*

Gawd! I'm outing myself ...

I used to be a "one thing at a time" type and I have worked to over-come that but there's a hitch:

Lately, my favorite meal is the 9 OZ Sirloin at Outback. I order a diet soda, as soon as I sit down. I get the steak, broccoli, and a sweet potato with honey butter and brown sugar and cinnamon. I order a Sam Adams' seasonal to be brought with the steak.

I am not much of a drinker but I like a nice beer with a good steak or a really good burger. The beer really goes nicely with the steak and the broccoli but it does not go well with the sweet potato. I find myself saving the sweet potato for last which I wash down with my second diet soda.

Do you also eat all of each item before moving on to another? Do you eat all of your veggies first, then your meat, then another item. Or do you eat a bit of each item equally?

I'm an equal opportunity eater. Dab here, a dab there.

Screen captures still RULE! Ya feel me?

You must have a take-charge personality. It's a good start. I didn't spell out getting with a Switch since there are fewer straight Switches available for a relationship. It must be the luck of the draw with me, but with the exception of 1-2 (who aren't available and/or age-appropriate), the rest have been bratty. If I wanted to be with an obnoxious horndog, I could find that anywhere in vanilla-land.

Also, this isn't to say that there aren't needy-arse demanding and pushy Dominants. Needy vanilla dudes, for sure. With subs, it's their getting swept up in subfever for starters. DO ME, DO ME, DO ME, kind of drowns out ordinary conversation. Newbies are starving for acceptance and affirmation wherever they can find it. Male subs who have had a Mistress or Dommes before, tend to be indoctrinated and conditioned, and unable to improvise or adapt well to change; the more slavish ones can barely think for themselves.

Other's mileage may vary according to their background experience. Nearly 20 years was marital, more like switchy-vanilla-kinky in the bedroom, except for the last 6 years when it evolved into a full-on D/s dynamic. (I'm not counting more than 3 years spent living with my ex-fiancé who turned out to be a fetishist.) Then just 2 years with 2 subs I had hoped would become LTRs but didn't pan out that way.

So when somebody comes along and says "I have 10 years [BDSM] lifestyle experience" with multiple play partners, and not in one continuous intimate relationship, I have to suppress a guffaw. Kind of reminds you of the dude who's been a "Master" since he was 18-20. Yep, that's how he came right out of the starting gate.

People obsessed and judgmental about other's behaviour that does not directly affect them.

Fuck proper and fuck etiquette. I am the sort of person that will purposely do what bugs a person that has such a cob up their arse.

Whether someone says 'no problem' or 'you're welcome' matters not at all to me. Neither affects me.

My annoyances regarding people tend more towards behaviours that have a negative affect on others, specifically those unable to stand up for themselves. Ex. People that are in positions of leadership but haven't a clue. People being cruel.......etc.

when at a restaurant the sugar container packets are not in color order according to the color spectrum. That annoys me I can't stand it.
