Hi Lawrence :)

For me at least, there's a *huge* difference between humiliation and degredation. Humiliation is empowering. It allows me to feel strong without feeling in control. Degradation robs people of their personal power, and simply feels icky. To me. Imnsho. Ykiok, ijnmk. yada yada yada, etc etc etc.

I have a blurb about humiliation that I wrote around here somewhere that I can dig up, if you want. There's also an interesting article about it on the screamergirl's website. I can dig up a link if you can't find it.

You are so right. Thing is...I don't remember anything humiliating that happened to me in a scene. I had a similar feinting experience with someone (I believe someone else posted something similiar) but it didn't humiliate me...it scared the snot out of me.

I also once meant to kick someone in the stomach and inadvertently made contact too high. I kicked him in the diaphragm and it knocked him to his knees and was a few moments before he could get his breath. That was scary too.

But I honestly can't remember anything that was humiliating to me. Perhaps embarassing? I can't remember anything like that...not in scene. Either it's never happened or it was so insignificant that I forgot it.

Lawrence? Sherri? Have you guys ever seen me 'humiliated' especially in scene?

Nope. I am not sure I understand the question.

For me, I can think of an embarassing scene, at the original Pappillion Cache, when in my first public scene with a new slave, she screamed (SCREAMED!!) red before I'd even really started.

I had bound her to a cross, and started cutting her clothing off, slowly, with a big, sharp, knife. She spontanously freaked out, and was compleatly unable to explain it.

That was pretty embarassing, but I don't think of it as humiliating. Generally, to my understanding, humilation in a scene is a submissive focus.

The times in my life when I've felt humiliation were not d/s related or even consensual. I prefer not to discuss them.

I think that some of these acts cross the line of humiliation between a Master and submissive and imposing your kink on others in public. There are so many great things that can be done in a subtle manner, but you start subjecting others to your kink in this manner and you risk getting arrested. The sad part is that the submissive is probably the one who will end up in trouble with the law since she actually did the act. If you are in a BDSM-friendly environment, that's one thing, but a classy restaurant and bringing out panties in front of all there - obviously, as you mentioned, enough to get people to look - that is unfairly subjecting your kink on someone else. Not only that, but doing anything like that in a family restaurant is just plain wrong. You are not the one that has to explain why the pretty lady is walking to a table with her panties in her hand. That's walking a dangerous line, especially when it can mean that your submissive could face legal charges and/or have a criminal record afterwards. No one has the right to risk allowing children to witness acts related to BDSM.

Trust me, I live in Texas where a woman was arrested for having a Passion Party in a private home and selling vibrators. If cops in Burleson will make an example out of her, they'll do it to your submissive. Dominants are supposed to protect submissives from such harm. A criminal record - in my humble opinion - is harmful. The dominant must be responsible enough to keep her safe in this regard.

Status: offline 		I agree with you 100% MistressKiss. Those are the kind of things that give BDSM a bad name. I would not stay with a dom that risked my being arrested so blatently. The closest i came was giving my first Dom a bj in a public park, and it scared me to death, since i was married i had a lot to lose if caught.
