ORIGINAL: Moderator3 Rumors may come and go, but I do not work for Arpig. FR (I didn't mean to point at one member here! Very sorry about that!) We really need to move on and stop talking about a member, of whatever status, that isn't here. Thank you I wouldn't worry about it too much. For one thing Arpig wasn't "one member" he was a whole group all on his own. His name pops up from time to time as a running gag much like "tap tap tap" I doubt he will ever really be gone and I am not sure he should be. Thank you. This is an explanation, not specifically addressed to you. There's more than one reason for my request. It seems that many members bring up Arpig as if there is a current threat. "Oh no, it's Arpig again!" You just can't know what kind of trouble that causes for staff. Anyone not known, that may with reason or without, becomes Arpig and company and our email box and reports increase. People are afraid? A man with a mental illness gets brought up constantly to serve the fears or need to be something or another. Shall we allow others with similar conditions that have a rough period, be subject to this? When has it been, that because people think there is good reason, that any member of good or bad standing is worked over, year after year, when we don't allow it for others? Most that have been referred to as Arpig haven't been him or company. So the name brings an environment that some could live without, is used to condemn new posters (good, bad or having a rough start) and contributes to the fame or insult of others. If you all want consistency and fairness in moderation there will be a few things that have to take place to provide that. No member can be the one we pick to allow others to mess with because they were bad enough that it is okay to, year after year, mess with them whether they are here or not. The tap, tap, doesn't come with a name or fear that festers. There's a lot more to consider than just allowing some fun, release or accusation. Do we want new members to think that they could be teased and go down in site history to the point that we would allow people to speak about them forever and a day? What is it that someone could do, to be one of those that become infamous fairly or not? I hope this helps and doesn't lead to more hijack of a thread that may have been started for some fun. We can continue in email if anyone has any concerns over this. Have fun, let's just not use others in a negative manner to do so.
