But the usual suspects are mute when the President outs the HEAD CIA SPOOK in a country we're at war with. Is anyone surprised by the hypocrisy?

I'm shocked I tell you, simply shocked!

MrRodgers -> RE: So Scooter Libby Gets Blamed for Plame (5/26/2014 5:34:09 PM)

Mute hardly. I've seen it already on the net and the news. Plus the reports are it was an accident and not deliberate as revenge for outing the lies about Iraq going to Africa for some yellow cake needed for Saddam's nukes none of which ever existed.

Scooter Libby was Cheney's patsy that took the rap and then had his sentence commuted by W.

So...not even a nice try.

FatDomDaddy -> RE: So Scooter Libby Gets Blamed for Plame (5/26/2014 5:45:24 PM)

Who's gonna take the rap here?

DomKen -> RE: So Scooter Libby Gets Blamed for Plame (5/26/2014 6:12:53 PM)

Libby didn't get blamed for it. He got convicted of obstruction of justice for trying to keep the investigation from finding out it was his boss and Rove that were leaking the names of CIA agents to the press which remains a capital offence BTW.

I'm sure it was an accident, and that Obama didn't even know about it until he saw it on the news. [:D]

30 months and $250,000. (acquitted on 1 count of 4) High price to pay for loyalty and to the most criminal of administrations since Nixon's and Watergate...and worse.

Then didn't learn from Reagan who pardoned I think 5 cabinet secretaries and underlings for Iran contra.

And the right thinks Obama is corrupt when really only a mere amateur at these things and not even close.

That was Bush Sr. Reagan was senile at that point. It was the infamous Christmas eve pardons.

Your going to make the accusation....

...You have the BURDEN OF EVIDENCE to bring forth.

There exists no evidence to support the President even knew of the error until long after it was made.

Well, first, an accidental outing isn't the same as intentional retribution via treason.

But second, it's pretty gross incompetence, and certainly not acceptable, to say the least.

Let's not re-elect him.

In your zip code the president of the u.s. compiles and validates distribution list? In the rest of the world inhabited by sane people that sort of work is taken care of by staff. That some clerk "screwed the pooch" on this ???not likely...who amongst the "bad guys" in the sand box does not know who the cia station chief in afghanistan is?
Then of course there is the source...the washington times. We see tony blakley (sun yung moon's stooge)the publisher of a rag with a circulation of hundreds???
Killer stuff you have found here[8|]

It was an error by the person who issued the press release. A hell of a long stretch to blame the President.

I agree, however, he probably will not get re-elected.

destroyer of the constitution, socialist, mishandler of umbrella people, golfing while congress burned.....

Yeah, I would say you haven't even wet the paper here.

FR

Ok I want to make sure I have the defense straight...

Valerie Plame, a retired low level clandestine officer safe in Washington DC was outed by someone, and Libby was sent to jail for trying to cover it up... Am I right so far?

Someone from the White House releases the name of the ACTIVE TOP CLANDESTINE STATION CHIEF in a country we're at war with, but it's no big deal, because it was just a mistake?

Oh yeah Stef, you forgot to mention that he was black, and it's racist to question ANYTHING he or his staff does.

Valerie Plame was an active covert agent. This has been explained to you several times. she had a covert identity with a cover job. when it was revealed that not only ruined her and put every one of her contacts at risk, the CIA will not say how many were killed, it ended the careers of every other agent that had that cover company on their resume.

Agreed about the President's personal responsibility.

However, it *is* a serious breach, and someone who's in charge of someone in charge of someone answers to the President -- and messed up. Truman was right on this one -- the buck stops at the President's desk.

Granted, someone else (or someones else) is probably without a job now.

I'm certainly not excusing the President, but that's a pretty bizarre spin, particularly in ignoring the deliberateness at a high level of the Plame outing.

Weren't the neocons were insisting he wasn't black because his mother was white? It's so hard to keep track of what their party line is from day to day. Do you get a regular newsletter?
