Mute hardly. I've seen it already on the net and the news. Plus the reports are it was an accident and not deliberate as revenge for outing the lies about Iraq going to Africa for some yellow cake needed for Saddam's nukes none of which ever existed. Scooter Libby was Cheney's patsy that took the rap and then had his sentence commuted by W. So...not even a nice try.

Libby didn't get blamed for it. He got convicted of obstruction of justice for trying to keep the investigation from finding out it was his boss and Rove that were leaking the names of CIA agents to the press which remains a capital offence BTW.

Valerie Plame, a retired low level clandestine officer safe in Washington DC was outed by someone, and Libby was sent to jail for trying to cover it up... Am I right so far? Someone from the White House releases the name of the ACTIVE TOP CLANDESTINE STATION CHIEF in a country we're at war with, but it's no big deal, because it was just a mistake? Oh yeah Stef, you forgot to mention that he was black, and it's racist to question ANYTHING he or his staff does.

This has been explained to you several times. she had a covert identity with a cover job. when it was revealed that not only ruined her and put every one of her contacts at risk, the CIA will not say how many were killed, it ended the careers of every other agent that had that cover company on their resume.

However, it is a serious breach, and someone who's in charge of someone in charge of someone answers to the President -- and messed up. Truman was right on this one -- the buck stops at the President's desk. Granted, someone else (or someones else) is probably without a job now.
