hi, i am new to this site, and am very disappointed because i went into the chatroom, asked a simple, very nice, non offensive question, and everyone jumped all over my back and booted me.  all i said was, "is anyone from southern california?"  and i got torn a new one.  i was just tring to start a conversation with someone in my area.  is this the impression the owners want people to have?  i am deleting my membership, but will wait a couple of days to see if anyone responds.  i am simply amazed that such a simple question drew such hostility.  i mean, get a life![:@]

Hi kara! Sorry you had a bad experience in a chat room. I don't go to chat rooms but some of them (as I understand it)..have "rules" and such. Perhaps it was a room with strict rules and they didn't post them for you to see them correctly, or....someone was just being an arse!

I agree with Irish. Though you shouldn't base your opinion on one bad experience.

Don't worry about those jerks. I think we're more nice here in the forums. Well, some of us are anyway.....

i am truly sorry for the reaction that you received. my Master goes into the chats quite often and it seems there are many rules in some. You might need to find out what they are when you go into a room and M/most will gladly help you out.Just keep trying and i know you will find a receptive one.

Did you go into the forum chatrooms, the lobby? If so, an OP probably told you that trolling (Asking for someone from a particular area, or sex, or just about any specific) isn't allowed. You still would have been more than welcome to join in the conversation. It is in the rules for chat, should you choose to read them. It's always a good idea to know the rules BEFORE you jump right in. (Yes, I have so learned that the hard way!)

I have found in the past that responses like that are the result of immature cyber-only types. Don't give up yet. Some of us are just fine, even if we do insist on having it our way with you to obey.

I am new to the chatrooms too and i asked a very similar question. However, the outcome was quite different. One of the moderators told me nicely i am not allowed to ask those things because that is what the profiles are for. Nobody jumped over me or something like that. I will say, give it one more try and see what happens.

My experience with the chat rooms here on Collarme are very similiar, while I can understand the need for rules, many of them are just ridiculous. Most of the unwritten rules are made up by these cyber only types that want to control everything. Try the forums much more informative and friendly.
