Unsual advice to anyone new to the whole D/s arena, take time to find out what your wants and needs are, read, use forums like this, ask questions, learn.... before trying to act on it.
Where you are is a little off the beaten track for getting to events and is probably not going to have much major going on localy for you to get involved in real life. Manchester is your nearest big scene, so I hope you like traveling *g* Hopefully you will end up finding what you seek nearer to home (Or maybe decide to eventualy move) but in the meantime, have a look for events on somewhere like informedconsent.co.uk you can learn a great deal from the real-life scene too.
