This piece of malware has been all over the news here in the UK. It's 'ransomware' - once installed, it encrypts your files. You can't get into those files again without a key that's provided by the crims behind the scam. They'll charge hundreds for it. Anyway, if this is old news, the following might not be: there's a free tool - Cryptoprevent - that is said to prevent Cryptolocker and other ransomware from installing on your pc. It can be downloaded here: http://www.foolishit.com/vb6-projects/cryptoprevent/ Read the instructions on the webpage closely, then download the program by clicking the big blue button at the bottom of the page. NB: I'm no frigging computer expert. I can't field tech questions! Therefore please read comments in this thread by people who *are* techies and who will no doubt rip my words to bits if they offer wrong/silly/pointless advice.
