--FR-- I know that approval ratings aren't exactly the same as "most admired", but here is a graph from the Wall Street Journal showing the approval ratings, by year, from each of the last twelve presidents, which may be a bit of an indicator as to why Clinton was most admired. What I find most interesting is that the only president that had a higher approval rating when he left office than when he took office, was Clinton. Reagan did nearly as well with only a slightly lower rating when he left office. Should we be surprised that in a four way race, Democrats told the first two spots by a wide margin? 60% to 36%? Or that when those Democrats were in office, they focus their efforts on the United States of America rather than Iraq?

I guess is you limit it to the last 25 years, Slick Willy would have to be the least objectionable. He did his main screwing of the constituency when he was a governor then just went for white house staff, for the most part, after becoming POTUS.

I wonder if most voters really vote like I do. Check of the guy who seems to be the least bent of the crooks on the ballot. I still think it would be useful if politicians wore patches on their jackets like NASCAR drivers so you could see which sponsors had bought them. <evil grin>

Kids have enough problems growing up without the president filling their heads with bullshit. I remember one of my social worker friends being shocked when she asked one of her underage clients why he thought it was ok and he replied that "the president says it doesn't count as sex". She came to me and asked if he really had said that and I reminded her of the outcry when it happened. She hadn't realized he had said that and thought the only reason everyone was upset was because he got a blowjob. Now I am sure there were a lot of people that were only upset at the idea of the idiot cheating on his wife, but there were a lot more that didn't like the idea of him teaching kids his own warped view of what sex is and what isn't. And yes, a lot of them also didn't like the idea of teaching kids it's ok to lie as long as it's just a little lie.

It will be interesting to see how this changes after he leaves office.
