Snitch -> Where to find & how to modify a Mistress/slave contract? (6/18/2014 12:33:50 PM)

I have a paper copy of a Mistress/slave contract that I wish to modify, but using keywods from the contract (which seems to be boilerplate pretty much), I can't find an editable source.

So I ask you for a pointer.
Do you know of a D/s library of editable contracts? (even pdf would be ok because it can be cut and pasted).

The contract starts out as follows (but it pretty standard):
quote:

this contract is provided as a secure and binding agreement which defines in specific terms the relationship and interaction between two individuals, hereafter termed Mistress and slave (both terms are intended to be independent of sex). This agreement is legal and binding. this agreement must be entered voluntarily, but cannot be broken except under the conditions stated herein, after which certain precautions shall be taken to protect those involved. You voluntarily bow and kiss my hand as my humble servant, respecting the feminine aspects of my divinity. ... (etc).

have your prospects type a paragraph into the computer for you as part of the looking over process.

Your best bet is to make your own. It's more work, but you get exactly the terms that you want.

And no, it won't be legally binding.

DesFIP -> RE: Where to find & how to modify a Mistress/slave contract? (6/18/2014 8:58:16 PM)

It's also useless unless the two of you write it together to make sure both of your needs will be met.

MzArianaPA -> RE: Where to find & how to modify a Mistress/slave contract? (6/19/2014 5:09:35 AM)

You can't type up your own?

And yes.....you do know that such a "contract" is only worth the paper they are printed on, right? They are in no way legally binding whatsoever.

Contracts CAN be useful as a communication tool to help BOTH participants lay out their expectations of the relationship, but it is no more than that, and there are certainly no possible legal repercussions if one does not hold up their end of the contract.

thishereboi -> RE: Where to find & how to modify a Mistress/slave contract? (6/19/2014 5:39:03 AM)

If you already have a paper copy it shouldn't be that hard to make the changes in pen and then type it up on your computer. Not sure why you would need a pdf first. You might also want to take out this part.. "This agreement is legal and binding." because it's not. If you are not in the mood to type, give it to your sub and make him do it.

Snitch -> RE: Where to find & how to modify a Mistress/slave contract? (6/19/2014 3:16:18 PM)

I solved the problem, as suggested, and simply typed it up myself.
It's amazingly hard to find an EDITABLE slave contract online (not HTML text) in Microsoft Word format, so as an open source gift, I will try to attach the results here both for comment so that I may improve it, and also so that you can use it.

It won't let me upload a word document (or even a pdf) so the word document is attached with a gif extension.

If there is some other place I'm supposed to donate this effort to on this forum, please let me know and I'll move it there.

You could copy and paste it into a post. Here. On this thread.

No way. That makes far too much sense.

You really don't need a lot of formatting to go into a contract. Pasting it into the thread, allowing others to paste it into their own documents is perfectly viable.

You could also go with a Dropbox link.

ahh well it is true that contracts for real slavery couldn't be done... but that doesn't mean that specific terms of required behavior couldn't be contracted for with failure of contract enacting sanctions of say money held in reserve. those who want a contract need to be inventive. forty years ago gay and lesbian couples certainly had no marriage rights, but those in relationships could legally set aside money and property to their spouse upon death or even legally make the spouse a legal representative in the event of health, incarceration or other functions usually reserved for the spouse, it just couldn't be a marriage contract.

I've used Google to find documents before, and then, in Microsoft Word (an editing program for documents...there are others that work similarly), I've found that highlighting something with my cursor and then deleting (both the delete key and "backspace" are both adequate for this) is effective for deletions and then, typing in what I want instead as a replacement for those words has proven to provide a highly useful end product.

Hitting the icon shaped like a diskette up on the top left of the screen insures it's available later if I feel a need to either print it, send it via email or make changes to same.

.gif is an unusual extension for a word document. Usually it's an image (screenshot?) And a moving image at that, not always but usually. Peculiar. But you can convert pdf files to html in adobe reader now, the newer versions (for instances of copy/paste). Adobe reader is great for use of digital signatures and such. Hope that helps.

Wills, living trusts, powers of attorney...all of these are viable instruments regardless of the relationship between people. The biggest difference between these documents and any contract is that they don't require any sort of agreement between parties.

When we get into the world of contracts...there are two important things to remember...one is a "meeting of the minds" and the other is that what is bargained for in the contract must be *legal*. In terms of any proposed "slave contract", there may very well be a "meeting of the minds" between 2 consenting, capable adults. However, the issue becomes, is what is being bargained for "legal"? Slavery, as such, is not legal. Neither is sex for money, except in very limited circumstances. So, what do you have left? I suppose it could be worded as an agreement for "domestic services", but you would have to be *very* specific in the wording- because all someone who wanted out of the contract would have to say is that they understood "domestic services" as sexual, and the whole thing gets tossed out the window.

Then, of course, one would have to deal with all of the issues that come with having an "employee". Reporting, taxes, etc.

FriendlyMuppet -> RE: Where to find & how to modify a Mistress/slave contract? (6/24/2014 10:10:27 PM)

I've found the best contracts for bdsm to be those you write yourself. My first mistress wrote our contract, and it was wonderfully written. It summed up exactly what she wanted, and I still think it was perfect. The second time I was owned by contract, my mistress at that time wanted me to write a contract, so she and I sat down and went over it line by line. It took forever, but in the end, it was exactly what we needed it to be.

Other times, well, they haven't been so great. I remember being on a first date with a dominant who was "thinking of" owning me. She came to our coffee date WITH a contract in her hands, already intending for me to sign it. In that circumstance, I realized that we probably weren't right for each other, as it took a little bit of conversation for me to realize how NOT serious she took the meaning of a contract.

So, in many circumstances, they help. I don't think in a million years I would ever have downloaded one and tried to make it work.

That entirely misses the point.

It makes no sense at all if you understood the original problem set.
But I still do appreciate the advice, even if I did have to resolve the issue by formatting it myself.
I hope that by contributing the Word document back to the forum (disguised as a GIF), I've helped someone else.

While the dropbox idea is a good one, the presumption that you don't need a lot of formatting is dependent on the intent.
For me, the contract must LOOK GOOD. It's something that should be printed on good paper, for example, with watermarks, and official-looking signatures, etc.

What you are trying to say is that the 'words' don't need formatting, and, if that were true, all advertising would simply be a cheap block of text. The message is also in what the document looks like. And, no, pasting into HTML is a silly idea, if you've ever tried it.
But, I do appreciate the attempt at helping, and the dropbox link is a good idea, if I ever stored anything online.

Exactly! What it "appears" to be is more important than what it is.

This is good advice, and it is essentially what I did.
If anyone can find this contract in Microsoft Word by Googling, they're far smarter than I am, because I tried, and failed.
Cutting and pasting from HTML was admittedly a sophomoric approach, but I had to resort to that base approach in order to even begin formatting the document.

You missed the point (and purpose) by a few dozen miles. But I appreciate the advice that GIF isn't a Microsoft Word document extension. :)

I really think you missed the entire point, so, I'll let someone else clue you in as to why the MS Word document currently has a GIF extension in addition to the DOC extension.

Thanks for the advice. I have PDF2Office by RecoSoft, so, I can convert a PDF to Microsoft Word anytime I want. It's not perfect, as no conversion program is perfect. But, the point was that I couldn't FIND a PDF of that particular contract on the web.

So, the REAL problem was that the formatted information I needed, was ONLY available in HTML, which, if you ever tried creating a document, is as substandard as it gets for the purpose at hand. (Yes, I know HTML formatting constructs.)

This is a good point, since a D/s contract would, in essence, require agreement.
But, not necessarily, since, it's not legally binding anyway.
All we need is an agreement with a bit of fan fare.

I think we only need the first for this type of contract.

I had to extensively re-write that one I had attached, so I don't disagree.
I hope the fact it's a Word document helps others NOT have to type it up by hand from scratch, as I had to though.
:)

No, that's comparing apples and oranges.

If you do need to format the contract so that it looks professional, then go for it.

But if you're sharing the terms of the contract so that someone else can tweak it to their liking, then there's no need to stress if there's a paragraph out of place

None of this had to do with advertising. I was talking about contracts only.
You've made your point but I was only offering another suggestion.
