Interesting when put all together. The "we oppose everything" party . . .

I think my favorite is "No one has the guts to just let [the poor] wither and die." ~Indiana GOP candidate

I think one of the most nauseating developments in political life in recent years is the emergence of the 'party of the people' and the 'anti-party party' that is made up of a bunch of reactionary farts whose only real talent is to chime with the most stupid, stuffed up belly-aching opinions of a certain section of the electorate. You have your Tea Party, we have our UKIP. The Force of Flatulence is crossing the world.

It astounds me doubly, that first, anyone would hold such a view, but second, be dumb enough to say it on the campaign trail.

It's a fucked up group.

Right...

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man." –Joe Biden, referring to Barack Obama at the beginning of the 2008 Democratic primary campaign, Jan. 31, 2007

You can take all the cheap shots you want at one party. Bear in mind that there are an equal number of asinine statements and actions that have come from the other one. Trying to hold either party as some kind of paragon of efficiency or intelligence is an exercise in polishing a turd. Since 9/11 neither party has acquitted itself as the home of intelligent leadership.

While there's a lot of crap, there is a distinction. The GOP has become about finding extreme positions in an attempt to polarize independents, because they believe this is their only shot at winning elections. This has actually led them to be the against everything party. Unfortunately, they've lost sight of proposing viable solutions.

Meanwhile, the Dems have their own crap, yes. But they are at least coming forth with solutions, however flawed.

Until that changes -- anti-party it is. I miss the GOP of the 70s. I hope a new, strong party emerges from somewhere, one with a comprehensive platform rather than the single issue third parties we have now.

Seeing all 11 boxes together is striking. Thanks for posting it.

In a funny way, it really does state the conservative philosophy for what its become....

PeonForHer -> RE: The Anti-Party (6/24/2014 2:55:52 PM)

There's a suggestion of 'King of the Hill' in those pics. I used to love that cartoon. though it was gentler than I'd have made it.

cloudboy -> RE: The Anti-Party (6/24/2014 3:15:41 PM)

Ralph Nader was on the local NPR show today: what he sees as hope for the nation is a libertarian-progressive alliance that breaks our corporate, two-party system.

In the course of the dialogue -- descriptions were made of IDEOLOGUES; Closed minded voters who seek confirmation bias of ideas not backed by facts and who characteristically demonize political opponents.

To break the two party grip on US power and rigid ideological thinking, Nader said he saw a future where progressives and libertarians would align against crony capitalism and state intrusions into personal liberty. He thought this could happen because each group is better adept at seeing facts and working on solutions therefrom. Each group also has cross-over interests with the other.

The 11 boxes are all about fact-averse, closed minded ideology. Its kind of a cartoon-guide to the Tea Party.

DomKen -> RE: The Anti-Party (6/24/2014 4:16:20 PM)

The first part of the problem is progressives that are still listening to Nader.
