I get that I'm probably the exception, but vibrators do nothing for me.

I'm with you on vibrators, I'm not a fan of them at all and neither is Master. Non-vibrating toys yes, vibrating toys, nope. Him knowing how much I dislike vibes, he'll occasionally use one combined with other means on me as discipline.

You left out doritos up the ass.

with or without jalapenos?

When you really look at it in a quirky light; isn't the most popular kink being a total submissive to an invisible omniscient omnipresent omnibenevolent entity that hasn't bothered to return calls in over a millennia? <twisted sense of humor kicked in the supercharger for a moment there>

When I date women, I assume that they're the demographic who don't like vibrators, otherwise they'd be a home with the vibe and not out on the town looking for love with me.

Sex shop sales have a statistical bias away from pet-shop and home depot restraints or even bare-handed restraining.

Anecdotal evidence will always skew towards kinks it's socially acceptable to talk about. Kinky dating sites will skew towards the more unstable kinks where it's hard to find or keep partners.

A better question would be, how would we determine which kink would be the most popular? And how would you draw the line between vanilla and kink?

With vanilla one uses a feather...with kink one uses the whole chicken

Assume kinky feels "different" from "normal".

Don't even try and figure out normal. Ever individual, relationship, culture and country has different views on what should be normal.

Then you get the stats first and work back from them to draw the line between sex acts that are, usual or unusual.
And also crosscheck for context,
E.g. certain religions believe the penis should only go into a vagina to make a baby. No Other Reason!!. PV sex for any other reason including pleasure is a depraved sin.

So the same people, doing the same coital act, can swing from doing holy normalcy, to naughty kink, depending on where she in her monthly fertility cycle and how much they enjoyed it.

I'd recommend delegating the task of figuring out where to draw each line, to someone you hate.

and the truly depraved cook it with ten other secret herbs & spices and sell them for millions.

Why are you messing with this poor kiwi? He gave a thoughtful answer...whereas you haven't shared what your laundry list of most popular kink(s) are, I should note.

It's XKCD color survey on a global scale?
http://blog.xkcd.com/2010/05/03/color-survey-results/

That's there's 8 billion answers, multiplied by all their relationships, in a minimum of 4 dimensional space?
And some people will react badly to you judging how kinky the they are? Either for it being false or worse for being truthful?

Like I said, delegate finding the answer to someone you hate

Thoughts?

Well, they do say the brain is the largest erogenous zone we have but, sorry, I still can't wrap my head around "thoughts" being the most popular kink.
