Its fear-mongering when the GOP/TP does it, since they have no rational, intelligent, or wise ideas on anything affecting this nation at current. The Democrats had ideas at the time Mr. McCain was campaigning against Mr. Obama. And again when President Obama was campaigning against Mr. Romney. Sen. McCain was pushing the idea of 'We have to hit them over there, or else they will hit us at home'. Which last I check, is fear mongering. Its the same reasoning for torturing people in prisons under US control. You would think someone that was a POW would be against torturing of prisoners....
Mr. Romney just wanted to be elected. And he would do anything and say anything to get elected. If he had to suck the President's cock just to get elected....he would have done so. Do you really want an individual like that anywhere near power? Its not fear mongering when your stating the facts of a situation. And those facts are easily verifiable by other sources. But those two concepts can not exist without the responsibility of what information can do to an uneducated population. Meaning, its up to the individuals in places of power and/or influence to be responsible with the power they wield towards others that receive such information. To be fair in such information, without political/religious/financial slant or motive. AKA journalism.

I contend that there is very little journalistic integrity left in the mainstream media. Just because it aligns more with your politics doesn't mean there isn't any politics or skew in it.

But its a tiny stream when compared to the metaphorical Mississippi River of Republicans, Tea Party (most directly), conservatives and libertarians. How many conservatives stated this nation would be in a second civil war if President Obama was elected to a second term?

Yes, and they had the FACTS on their side. Something the Bush Administration never had while it was milking 9/11. The Iraq Régime was many things, but it was not an ally of the guy nor the organization that guy was the head of, that created 9/11. The reason why George wanted Saddam was for the attempted assassination by Saddam on his father. You might remember that as the time during the Clinton Administration that a pile of cruise missiles got launched into Iraq.
The 'plan' of the GWB administration was to keep American's focus on Iraq and Afghanistan while ignoring America. That allowed Republicans (whom controlled Congress) to undo many laws that were originally created to mitigate or nullify capitalism from blowing the whole economy out of balance. And we all know what happened in 2006-2007, right? That's when the economy started its downward spiral to the second great depression. Those laws were put in place originally to keep capitalism regulated so that greed could not undue the country. Ironically those laws were put into place by Republicans to keep businesses good, not greedy.
More of this bullshit?!? When did the GOP have a supermajority in the Senate?
